GGMMMU ~ Representing Shifters in an Interview is Author Alyssa Rose Ivy

Alyssa Rose Ivy lives in North Carolina with her husband and two young children. Although raised in the New York area, she fell in love with the South after moving to New Orleans for college. After years as a perpetual student, she turned back to her creative side and decided to write.

Website / Facebook / Goodreads  /  Twitter

She is representing her shifters, the pterons. They are unlike any other that you will find!

What prey tell do your shifters shift into? (Describe if necessary) ;-) I’m primarily known for writing about Pterons. They are related to birds, but their paranormal form is of a human with wings. I also have a series about Dire Wolves.

What do you envision their greatest characteristic to be? Their worst? I’ll focus on Pterons for this one. Their greatest characteristic is their ability to fly. Their worst characteristic is arrogance at times.

What two creatures would you love to see go toe to toe in a battle? You will be judged for creativity. ;-) Feel free to describe the battle. I’d love to see one of my Pterons go against one of my Dire Wolves. Hint: you may this in an upcoming book of mine ;) You are such a tease, LOL!

Choose three of the following and tell us what your creature would do with them, make out of them, use them for or what reaction they would have to them: an apple, an gemstone, a silver chain, a fish, a rat, a deer, a toad, a piece of pizza heavily dosed with garlic, a flower, treasure belonging to someone else, fire, a spider, a worm, a ball of string, a microphone and speakers, a wooden club, a mirror, a book, a cemetery, a boat, a moonlight bonfire, a sunny afternoon, a walk through the forest on an overcast day, a wooden stick, a Popsicle, a broom, a tree, a lost person, a baby, a body of water, a cross, a cage, wolfs bane, a rock, a rubber band, a chicken, a rabbit, a cave, rope, or a piece of candy. I’ll use Pterons for this one too.

A body of water: Would fly over it unless they have a particular person they want to go skinny dipping with.

Gemstone: It depends on what stone it is. Pterons of a certain statute are often aligned with a particular stone.

A flower: Would probably give it to a girl. Contrary to what many believe, Pterons do have a romantic side.

Which type of monster do you think would make the best love interest for your monster and why? The worst? Any creature that can stand up to them, human or not. Pterons need a mate that doesn’t let them get away with everything.

What scares you? Not being able to protect someone I love.

What is your monster most afraid of? What makes it happy? Most afraid of being confined somewhere where he/she can’t get their wings out. Most happy when they are flying.

What type of candy would you be apt to grab? Give out for Halloween? Chocolate, chocolate, and more chocolate. Dark chocolate is even better.

What is their favorite meal? Meat and fine wine

What do you think is the most mis-construed idea about shifters? That they are always animalistic. They often have a completely different and more human side to them.

What is a least known trait about them? The diversity. They come in so many different types.

How do your shifters find or know their mate? Pterons usually just need to find someone that’s compatible. That wasn’t the case for Levi in the Crescent Chronicles though.

What is your favorite type of monster to write about? Read about? Shifters of any sort. Can’t get enough of them. :-) Me too!

Alyssa is sponsoring a prize for the giveaway too! Thank you so much Alyssa!
