SHAPE-SHIFTER: One that seems able to change form or identity at will; especially: a mythical figure that can assume different forms (as of animals)
I have a huge list of books to share but the computer doesn't seem to want to upload the picts. :-(
I am very sorry for the late posts. I am trying to get to the bottom of the issue and fix it but so far no luck. :-(
In addition to this post, there are two shifter interviews today. :-) Did you check them out?
What animal would you like to see as a shifter?
The following giveaway is being sponsored by Author J.C. McKenzie. She is wonderful, talented, friendly and very giving . Be sure to say thank you to her, please!
what animal i would like to see? i wouldn't mind to see more badger shifters and i don't think i have read about a raccon one so far^^
ReplyDeletei haven't read book about phoenix so far ( or at least idon't remember).
as for suggestion teh kate daniels series by ilona andrews has a large range of different kind of shifters ( and one badger^^)
psichangeling series is interesting too ( rat shifters, deer one, puma, jaguar, wolf)
i don't which onei can suggest that you don't know already so i think i will see if someone ask for a animal and if i know a book with one^^ that i could then suggest
Great suggestion, Miki! I totally second a Kate Daniels recommendation. I also recommend Patricia Briggs' Mercy Thompson series (I also love her Alpha & Omega series), Faith Hunter's Jane Yellowrock series (although she's a skin walker, not a shifter), and Thea Harrison's Elder Races series (the first book is the best, IMO)
Deletea Liger,it would be bigger and stronger than other cat shifters
ReplyDeleteExcellent answer! When I did research on hybrids, I found there were a lot more than I thought--ligers, tigons, and more! As a biologist, I find it fascinating! As a writer, I find it thought provoking.
DeleteI think some of the smaller animals would be cool as shifters. Squirrels, bobcats, cougars animals like that.
ReplyDeleteI love your bobcat idea! I've been mauling over that idea for a while--Bobcats and lynxes:-)
Deletebobcat that's make me think immediately bout jane yellowrock i think it's teh first time i hear about them but yes i would love to see more of that
DeleteLol too funny! I think of mountain lions when I think of Jane :-)
DeleteHm.. pretty much any animal that hasn't been done would be cool. Like an elephant or even a horse. Granted it be weird with the whole size issue on the elephant but a person shifting into a wolf is really no different. ;p
ReplyDeleteI agree. It's hard to find a fresh angle sometimes in the PNR/UF genre. Even if you haven't read all the books in existence and "think" you did something new, turns out so-and-so already did it! :-)
Deletehorse i think have raed something about one but i can't rememeber. An elephant that i never thought about^^
DeleteI would like to see an eagle or falcon shifter
ReplyDeleteOhhhhhhhhh then i can recommend you Storm force by Susannah Sandlin you will love Robin she is a eagle shifter ( you can also find her again in Allegiance which is book 4 in the Penton legacy series, same author. Penton is a series about vampires first but starting book 4 others are joining^^)
DeleteDang! Miki beat me to the rec again! Good suggestion Miki :-)
DeleteI would like to see a guinea pig shifter.
ReplyDeletehehehehe that would be awesome! I wonder what kind of trouble a guinea pig shifter would get into!
DeleteAlways been a fan of big cat shifters. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteMe too ;-)
DeleteThanks for the excerpt and the giveaway. I would like to see the Cheetah shift.
ReplyDeleteA cheetah shifter would be awesome! I used animals native to the west coast of Canada, but I love the idea!
DeleteRaccoons. They'd make the best shifter bandits!
ReplyDeleteLol! They definitely would!
DeleteOne series I actully mentioned on another question was The Feral Warriors Series and I loved the way that series covered alot of different animals, so it all tied in together, so I would love to see more series like that , so in general any animals, but just more of a mix in one series. like a tiger, lion, badger, what ever just a bunch of animals in one series, I love shifter books
ReplyDeleteI love Panthers. I'd love to see that shift.
