Cammie has had one hell of a night. Her long-time abusive
boyfriend pushed her to the limits and then a freaking wolf hit her car. While
clutching a bag of frozen peas to her swollen eye she manages to rescue the
animal and make it home. But what’s she do with it after that?
Ian can’t believe his luck. After a stupid decision he’s been
run out of every shifter territory he’s entered. Hoping Coyote Bluff would be
different seems to have been his downfall. After a bunch of coyotes chase him
through the night he finds himself being coddled by a tempting woman. His
canine half is already in love with her.
Cammie’s ex comes calling, Ian’s found out by the local Alpha
and the town seems bent on keeping them apart. Can they fight against everyone
at once to find happiness together? Better question would be will Cammie accept
Ian once he admits to being the wolf she so readily confided in and nursed back
to health?

Author Bio:
Lea lives in Western New York with her hubby, three children,
and miscellaneous critters. Before the rug rats, she lived a life of adventure,
following her husband all over Europe with the US military. She's slept in a
car outside Paris, drove six hours just to see tulips in the Netherlands, and
knocked ash from her shoes at Pompeii. Now she spends her time in life's
adventures at soccer games, PTA meetings and school plays.
Lea has loved reading from a very young age, spending many
sleepless nights devouring books. Science fiction and paranormal were her
favorite genres to read as a teenager, and that love bled into her adult life.
She started writing during a bout of insomnia, to fill time, and found it
filled a creative void. Now she communes regularly with the characters in her
head and tries not to laugh out loud when they say something funny.
When Lea isn't reading, writing or corralling kids, she
enjoys watching movies and sciencey shows, or just kicking back and listening
to some music.

My Thoughts:
It seemed just a smidgen like it was in neutral for the first chapter or so. When it really got going, the pace picked up and it was better. :-)
I liked the main characters a good bit. I just had small issues with them. Cammie put up with abuse and that is not cool in my book and Ian took part in cheating with another man's mate in his past. That is not cool either and it goes against what I love about most werewolves ~ they mate for life and are loyal.
Anyway, Ian doesn't cheat on Cammie. I think he learned from his past mistake and overall, after overlooking it, I liked him a great deal.
This book had some humor, drama, danger, romance, action and steam.
If you like shifters, you'll want to try this one for yourself!
I received an ecopy of the book in exchange for an honest opinion. I liked it. It was a sturdy beginning to a new shifter series to keep our eyes on. I will be waiting for the next book. :-)
Teaser:
Coyote Bluff is a small, quaint town in the mountains of
Virginia. With its diner run by Mama, the police force of one and a single stop
light it's much like every other small town in America. Well, until you take a
closer look.
Feel free to come visit Coyote Bluff... but keep an eye on
the wildlife.

hum i would have the same problem than you... a wolf who isn't loyal that's really not something i enjoy.... now i wonder was teh female a wolf or a human. i don't accept cheating in anyform but if she was perhaps it's wolf didn't see her as a mate just fun ( even bad but it would salvage the wolf in my opinion^^;; yes desesperate attempt)
ReplyDeletestill i could be tempted to try this oen one day
He was loyal to Cammie! Cammie is human.
DeleteIn his past he had sex with his previous Alpha's mate though. She was wolf and seduced him on purpose but it still didn't sit well that he allowed it to happen.
Enjoyed the blurb on this book. Will probably get it.
ReplyDeleteI really liked this one. I can't wait to get some of the other peoples stories. But I agree with you. I don't condone the whole cheating with anothers mate. But it wasn't 100% his fault. He was drunk and she was hell bent on seducing him. But he still let it happen.
