It's Christmas in Twilight, Texas. The Cookie Club is baking, the town is decorated, and Delta Force Operator "Hutch" Hutchinson has finally, reluctantly, returned home . . .

. . . only to get pepper sprayed by the delicious- looking stranger who's taken over his house. She says her name is Jane, and she immediately sets down ground rules. Top priority: no touching. For Hutch that isn't easy—he was wounded in action, but one part is still working very well.

Then Hutch learns the truth. Jane harbors a frightening secret—she's really Meredith Sommers, on the run from a dangerous ex-husband and desperately in need of the safety Hutch can provide. In that moment, he vows he'd do anything in his power to protect her. And as Christmas approaches, they discover that their love can conquer the past and overcome any obstacle—but what price will they pay?

 My Thoughts:

This is book five in the Twilight, Texas series. I fell in love with this series many years ago. I have all of the main books in print. I am in my glory because upon reading this one I found out that a set of novellas in this series are finally, FINALLY in print as well! That means that I can read those now!!!

If you haven't read any of these books, you are really missing out. This one would stand alone really well but I really suggest reading all of them in order. All of the books are awesome and you are introduced to new characters book by book.

All of the books have wonderful characters, heartwarming scenarios, a breathtaking scenic town that I would love to be a part of, emotion jerking plots that really make you feel.... I could go on and on and on because they are truly so very well written and engaging. :-)

Each book has it's own set of circumstances and a different set of main characters. However, we see the characters again in the following books which makes me extremely happy! :D

Now, about this particular book, The hero is a man named Brian Hutchinson. He likes to be called Hutch and he is a soldier who comes home from being deployed after experiencing a tragedy. He comes home and finds a strange woman is living in his house, his niece is being cared for by this woman and his sister who should be there has gone on a road trip with a man that she just met.

Jane is our heroine. Well that is the name she gives everyone. She is running from a psychotic ex husband who is a police officer. She has been running for five years and has other secrets too.

Hutch wants to care for his niece but he needs help. He asks Jane to stay until his sister comes back or until after Christmas.

I don't want to say anymore and give too much away. I will say that these two hurting souls bring out the best and worst in each other. Their chemistry and attraction is off the charts. ;-)

Lori's books have plenty of attraction but you don't have too deal with raunchy sex scenes. She does not write them that way. Her scenes are mild, more meaningful and less explicit.

This book would make a great addition to your holiday reading selections or you could read it now! The first book, The Sweathearts' Knitting Club is also a great book to read now and you would be ready for Christmas At Twilight just in time for the holidays. :D

The First Love Cookie Club, book three, was actually my favorite. It was also the first book of this series that I read. I then went backwards and read books one and two.

I can't wait to purchase The Christmas Cookie Collection and finally have all of the shorter stories as well! Merry early Christmas to me!

I received an ecopy of Christmas At Twilight in exchange for my honest opinion. I thought it was phenomenal.
