I love Hestia she was an important goddess and not included in all the clashs and war, very protective and kind goddness. I've read North of need and loved it, Dead radiance, fire, appolyon and goddess test are in my TBR pile^^
ReplyDeleteThank you for thios fantastic contest ( i hope a book in teh same series counts not only the first one^^)
now off to try the question of the day before putting a review and a link to this^^

ReplyDeleteFor me, it's a toss-up between Athena and Artemis. I actually really like the virgin goddesses! =) Hestia would be a great choice, too, but I'm afraid that I never got a real sense of her character.
This post reminds me of Jane Eyre saying she had made an idol out of Mr. Rochester and Juliet calling Romeo "the god of [her] idolatry." I think that someone who is in love already tends to see the other as some kind of perfect deity. Modern PNR takes that and makes it a bit more literal! =P
I always loved Cupid and Psyche just because I always liked their story. Thanks for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteHades! Only partly because of the Louise Glück poem, A Myth of Devotion.

Probably Artemis since she's a kick ass female but I do go back and forth on them. I love the mythology and stories so it's hard to pick just one. :) and I have read a few of these. North of Need is a great one and I've read some of the Percy Jacksons.
ReplyDeleteI have read North of Need and enjoyed it. I would like to read another from this series.
ReplyDeleteI liked North of Need too. :D I actually have the next two books on my shelf waiting to be read. Now if I could just make them a priority!
Delete^^ i don't have them yet but they are on my list of priority to get ( not the right top but perhaps^^)
DeleteI have the 2nd but havent read it yet either.
DeleteI haven't really read any of these, with the exception of the Percy Jackson series, which I looove! Thanks for the giveaway! :D
ReplyDelete:-) You're welcome!
DeleteI've read Jennifer Armentrout's Lux series, but I haven't read her Covenant series. I'll definitely have to check that out. Thanks for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway! I love the Starcrossed series and the Goddess Test, and a Beautiful Dark! My favorite God is Hades. <3

My favorite Goddess is Artemis because of what she stood for. Not only was she the Goddess of the hunt but she was also the protector for young girls both physically and emotionally. She had the ability to cure ailments for women and she valued virginity in young maidens.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite God is Hermes. He is the God of transitions and boundaries, he is quick and cunning, and had the ability to travel between Olympus, Earth, and the Underworld. He is the protector of travelers as well as writers.
Thanks for the giveaway!
My favorite Goddes is Aphrodite (Venus) although she is always considered a bitch xD
ReplyDeleteBy the way, I LOVE your blog! Thank you for all the reviews and givaways! You rock!!! :D
ReplyDeleteShe really does! ;)
DeleteI don't know if I have a favorite God or Goddess; so many of them make great fodder for stories though. From this list, I've read the Percy Jackson series (and all the other mythology based series written by Rick Riordan) and Sweet Venom, and I really want to read the rest of this series.

I love Hades and Ares. Just because they're the ones who never really got any love.

I've always been partial to Loki (in the original Norse version, not the Marvel incarnation) - trickster gods make for good stories. My favourite goddess is Athena because of the values she stands for (well, most of them, I'm not big on warfare - but wisdom, courage, inspiration, arts, mathematics etc.)
ReplyDeleteI love Loki too! I like the Marvel version but Im with you that the original is better.
DeleteHades is my favorite.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chance to win!
