Day Three of my Ghoulishly Good Monster Mash Mix Up!
You guessed it, today is all about vampires!
To start off, I have an interview with Brandy Dorsch, the author of vampire book Everlasting Hunger.
Here is what she shared with us:
What part of writing do you find the most challenging? most enjoyable?
All of it! LOL! I love discovering new quirks with my characters but it can be challenging figuring out how they are going to interact with each other.
In what scenario do you do your best work?
Rushed is the best scenario. I wrote Everlasting Hunger during NaNoWriMo. Now that I have more time to write I seem to get less written.
In your opinion, what is the most compelling thing about vampires? What is it that always makes us so “blood thirsty” for more of them?
For me it has always been the beauty of vampires. I grew up with a really poor self-esteem and the thought of being beautiful and captivating for all eternity can be a serious rush.
Do you prefer to go to the theater or wait for the DVD?
I prefer the DVD. I do too for the most part. Except for when my absolute favorites come out then I am there at the midnight showing! lol!
Breakfast, lunch,or dinner which meal is your favorite?
Dinner because I get to be with my family.
What is your favorite season? favorite holiday?
Fall. I love the crispness in the air. However, Christmas is my favorite season.
What types of books do you like to read?
I am a die-hard romance fan. I will read almost any type of genre but love my paranormal books. We have that in common. lol! When I do mu IMM posts they always have paranormal books. I can't stay away!
Are you more likely to wear a skirt or pants?
Pants.
What is your biggest weakness?
Myself. I don’t have a lot of faith in myself which can lead to me being my own worst enemy. I think that is true for most of us. My Mom always says "You are your own worst enemy."
In your opinion, what is the best Halloween costume?
Anything that makes your kids smile. True! Goofy seems to work better than scary, I think. :-)
If I came to your house on Halloween, would your lights be off or on? If on, what kind of treat do you typically hand out?
My lights would be off because I am out with my kids and group of friends. Me too. I always take a special bag with me and hand out goodies to others as we walk. :-) I usually give a mixture of age appropriate treats. I like cookies or pretzels for tiny tots, and then of course some Willy Wonka candy like Nerds, Sweet tarts, and Laffy Taffy, and last but not least M&Ms, and a variety of small candy bars. I can give a handful to everyone because they are the small ones.
Thank you for taking the time to answer my questions. :D
Thank you for taking the time to have me! I appreciate it!
I'm happy to have you. :-)

I do have to say that the actresses that they signed do not fit my vision for Rose and Lissa. :-(
Oh well! Enjoy. :-)
Last but not least, today's giveaway is a tad different.
There are two giveaways. The first one is only open to USA and Canada due to shipping costs. Sorry INT peeps. :-(
The second giveaway is for INT followers or those of you who have all of the books pictured. The second prize will be a vampire book of your choice ($10 or less) from TBD.
I hope there will be a good response for the prize for the first giveaway. If there is a lack of interest, I may cancel this giveaway. If that happens, anybody who entered it will be able to enter the second giveaway instead. Hopefully that won't happen though! I have four Vampire Diaries books that I'm wanting to giveaway. One winner will receive all of the following books:
The first two books actually have two stories each and are paperback. The second two books are hardback. All of these books are mine from my shelf. They are in awesome condition and ready for a new home. :-)

It is alot of fun! It took me forever on some of those questions though! LOL :P
DeletePractice makes perfect! :-)

ReplyDeleteWow! Those are a lot of free e-books!
Is it just Amazon's vampire week or are really so many more vampire books than other supernatural novel at any given time?
lol! I was surprised by how many there were. There are just more vamp books then the others! I actually had to quit listing them but believe it or not, there were some more! :-) I hope they are free for you too.
DeleteThat is a lot of freebies! Holy cow! My kindle is seriously overflowing.. :) I entered the vampire diaries one accidently. I was looking at the wrong rafflecopter. I have the first 2 so you can cancel my entries for that if you like? Sorry bout that! You know I love all the paranormal so I'm excited to see what else you've come up with! :D
ReplyDeleteyou could still want the following two of the vampires diaries no?
DeleteRight. I'll keep you in there Amber. If you win just remind me that you only want two of them. I can always use the other two for a Clear My Shelf giveaway. :-)
DeleteAwesome! Thanks sweetie! I wasnt sure if we could enter both or not is why I said that?
DeleteIt doesn't really matter. I'd prefer everyone to choose one or the other but it works! If you'd happen to win both though, I'll ask you to choose one prize or the other.
DeleteWorks for me. :)
DeleteOh and to answer that other question of what makes them compelling, i think its like their the ultimate bad boy and its kinda of romantic to think you could find someone to love you forever. Like literally. :)
DeleteVamps are my all time favorite!!!
ReplyDeleteWhen I was a teenager, I actually loved LJ Smith's Night World series way more than the Vampire Diaries.
They are my second favorite but obviously we are not alone in our vamp love. There are more vamp books than anything else I think. :-)
DeleteI'm not actually sure why I love vamps so much... I find paranormal books oddly compelling. Possibly because they are so different from real life. Thanks for the giveaways! :D
ReplyDeleteI like that you can just get lost in them. I've always loved them so I dont really know why either. :)
DeleteI find the whole fascination with vampires a little odd, simply because who would really like these creatures in real life? I know I wouldn't. Yet the way authors portray this specific breed of monsters makes them appear misunderstood and more than a little attractive. However, compared to the original vampires, most of our modern ones aren't even the same!
ReplyDeletemy love for them is hard to explain o.o
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure why I like vampire stories - I think it's cultural, what with all these movies and books that make them seem so sexy and brooding. And I guess there's something about the blood connection that makes them darkly attractive to many.
