Review ~ Stefan Le Beau by V.A. Dold

NOTE: Complete novel. No cliffhanger. Dual POV. Rated 18+ for language and strong sexual content. This is an adult paranormal romance with erotic content. The series centers on Billionaire Wolf Shifters with plus sized BBW for mates. It also includes vampires, voodoo priestess, a Marine, and magic. These are stand alone books that create a series. They do not need to be read in order.

V.A.Dold is the bestselling author of the Le Beau Brothers series, New Orleans wolf shifter novels. A graduate of Saint Cloud University, she majored in marketing. Prior to becoming a full time writer, she was a publicist to the authors, owning Innovative Online Book Tours and ARC Author & Reader Con's (ARC NOLA) (ARC Phoenix). Still is. The companies mesh so well together, much like PB&J.

Her idea of absolute heaven is a day in the French Quarter filled with nothing but her computer, her coffee mug and the Brothers, of course.

A Minnesota native with her heart lost to Louisiana, she has a penchant for titillating tales featuring sexy men and strong women. When she's not writing, she's probably taking in a movie, reading or traveling.

Her earliest reading memories are from grade school. She had a major fixation with horses, and the Black Stallion was a favorite. Then junior high came along and teenage hormones kicked in. It became all about the Harlequin Romances. She has been hooked on romances ever since.

Stefan (Le Beau Brothers #3)

El is a beautiful, successful, plus sized woman with a painful past that has left her hating all handsome, wealthy men. She’s known Stefan Le Beau since she was sixteen. Too bad she thinks he’s a hound dog and a man-whore.

Stefan is a playboy to the extreme. He has one hard and fast rule, only see a woman once, take her to bed and be gone before morning. Until El.

Stefan’s dream of finding his mate comes true when she is auctioned off at Simon’s charity ball. Two hundred thousand dollars was money well spent to win his mate.

Now, If she only liked him.

Can Stefan convince El he's a reformed man?

Can El learn to trust the one man who is the epitome of what she avoids and could shatter her heart?

It may require drastic measures from the entire family to make this mating happen.

Fortyfive minutes later, the auction was finally over. She could finally go home. Her feet were swollen and something was doing a tap dance on the inside of her skull. The Tylenol she had taken fifteen minutes ago hadn’t kicked in yet.

She considered her options as she rubbed the edge of her sole, should I chance taking these shoes off? Crap, I might not get them back on. Then what? Go bare foot in this gown?
That wouldn’t be embarrassing, not at all.
El stood and limped to the door leading to the ballroom. She groaned as she looked at the crowd she would have to walk through to get to her truck.
This was going to be two hundred thousand times worse than a walk of shame.
She giggled at her bad joke. Yeah, she was losing it.
“What’s so funny?”
The deep timber of his drawl had no business sending her pulse racing. She waited for a panic attack to kick in, but her body remained calm.
“Nothing.” She squared off with Stefan. “Were you dropped on your head as a child?”
The smell of fresh leather surrounded her. She took a deep breath wondering once again where it was coming from.
He frowned. “No.”
She cocked her head and arched a brow at him.
“Is there a history of insanity in your family?”
“No.” He scowled. “What are you getting at?”
“No one in his right mind would bid two hundred thousand dollars. That leaves one conclusion, you’re insane.”
“Oh, I’m insane all right. Insane for you.”
“Right. Go fishing with those lines somewhere else, this woman isn’t biting.”
“Oh, cher,” he laid his hand across his heart, “you wound me.”
“Shut up, Le Beau.” She tried to push past him but he didn’t budge. “Please move out of the way.”
From the ballroom, the band began to play a romantic waltz. Her father’s favorite songthe one he always insisted she dance with him to. How odd.
He presented his hand to her. “I do believe they’re playing our song.”
She looked at his hand suspiciously. “What are you doing now?”
“I’m asking the single woman I won at the auction to dance. That is my right as the winner.” He grinned.
She stepped back and crossed her arms. “You’re kidding, right?”
“I’ve never been more serious, I assure you. Now, may I have this dance?” His hand remained extended as he waited for her response.
She eyed the hand like it might bite. “Fine. I suppose I have to.”
Stefan led her to the dance floor and took her into his arms. She was perfect. His wolf howled in triumph. Now if he could only get her to actually like him.

Anna James is single again, finally. In her opinion, men are self-centered and will never love her for who she is, a beautiful, plus sized woman. All except the fantasy man that she’s been meeting in her dreams for five years.

She just never expected her fantasy to be a real live alpha shifter...

Cade Le Beau isn't what he seems. He’s a billionaire wolf. A Shifter. He laments his missed chance six months ago to meet his fantasy woman in the flesh. Just as his second chance presents itself, his fantasy woman, his mate, is threatened by the local mob boss and her ex-husband. Now, he has forty eight hours to deal with this threat once and for all or chance losing her again.

Is it Anna who’s in danger, or the humans who unwittingly threaten her?

The heat is on the moment they lay eyes on each other. Neither, age, children, horrid ex-husbands, nor mob bosses will stop this love affair.

Simon (Le Beau Brothers #2)

Four years of honorably serving his country has left Simon, Cade’s younger brother, damaged and trapped in wolf form. Little did he know the only person with the ability to heal him completely would be found at home. Literally. Now that he’s found her, he is desperate to claim her.

Rose is a beautiful, voluptuous woman with limited experience with men. Although she's confident, she still has reservations. Never having a family of her own, her fear of abandonment has her fleeing romantic relationships, and doubting herself.

Travis is insane. A deadly loose cannon that a secret organization hired to destroy the Le Beau family by denying them their mates. Permanently.

Simon’s dream will be lost forever unless he is able to maintain human form.

Rose needs unconditional love and a mate to create the family she’s always wanted.

Travis’s all-consuming drive is to take Rose for himself.

Will Simon ever be whole again, able to claim his mate, giving Rose the love and family she so desperately craves? Or will Travis destroy them both?

My Thoughts:

You can find my review of the first book, Cade, here. I also reviewed Simon, the second book and you can see my thoughts about it here.

Each of these books could easily be read as a stand alone or out of order but you know how I am and I will tell you that if you plan to read them all, then start with Cade and go from there.

I really like this series. Miss Dold does a wonderful job of bringing New Orleans to life in the books with her descriptions.

She mixes the perfect blend of sexy scenes and romance. There is plenty of action and danger to keep you on your toes, smart and sassy women characters, totally alpha males that have a sweet side when it comes to their mate, and a slew of other supernatural characters as well.

Stefan is the hero's name. He is one of the seven Le Beau brothers. He was a playboy of the worst variety. He never slept with a woman more than once, he never took them on a date, and he didn't believe in relationships. Recently he's been wanting what Cade and Simon have, a mate.

He has been having dreams about his mate but the next day he searches the places that he dreamt about to no avail. He is getting frustrated.

He finally meets his mate at an auction but he has his work cut out for himself. She has a very low opinion of him and has demons from her past that she tries to fight daily.

I liked El but I was getting frustrated with her. She was so tough on Stefan!

My only complaint is that some things were repeated a few times and that got on my nerves. It may not bother those of you who haven't read the other books yet but I already know who is with who and so on so it annoyed me a little. Not enough to quit reading the book mind you, but enough to mention it to you.

Other than that, I swear each book gets more and more exciting!

The next book is about Thomas (who is human) and Julia who is the Le Beau's cousin. I can't wait to see what is in store for them!

I received an ecopy from the author in exchange for my honest opinion. I thought it was another super addition to this shifter series which has me beyond hooked.
