VBT: Wolf's Desire by Ambrielle Kirk ~ Review & Giveaway

Blurb:

When Keira becomes a widow, she realizes that the life she once had wasn’t normal after all. After her husband is brutally murdered, she is more than just alone but vulnerable to threats and tangled in a web of greed. Her decisions lead her into a corner, and safety is jeopardized.
Aiden, Caedmon Council member, has never failed when it comes to fulfilling the terms of his employment contract. When he is hired to protect an heiress, he doesn’t plan on her being the only woman to bring both challenge and purpose in his life. Without hesitation, he vows to keep the grieving Keira safe—even from himself.

Keira trusts Aiden unconditionally and finds joy whenever they are together, but can love transcend a tragedy? Aiden’s urge to protect her is just as great as his desire to claim her. Once the passion is unleashed and fueled by the need to have all of her, the wolf will accept nothing less than his mate.

My Thoughts:

I am woefully behind the times! This is another series that I should have known about but didn't. Wolf's Desire is the fourth book in the CAEDMON wolves series. That means that I have somehow missed this series three other times. Three. How did this happen???? All I can say is I have to catch up now and you better believe that I won't be missing anymore of these books.

This book can be read as a stand alone without reading the first three books. That is what I did.

Kiera's husband is brutally murdered right in front of her and it seems that no one is willing to help her find her husband's murderers. To add insult to injury she keeps getting threatened. She is not one to back down though and instead of running for the hills like the bad guys suggest, she intends to keep digging until she finds the guilty party and makes them pay! After a particularly scary incident she decides to hire a bodyguard.

Aiden thought he was retired from being a body guard but his contact begs him to do this last job. He gets more than he bargained for. When he meets Kiera he realizes that this human is his mate. Here she is grieving her husband and he is lusting after her big time!

This book really had it all. There was action, mystery, suspense, shifters, and steamy scenes, ;-) Hubba Hubba!!! What more could you want?

I will caution that this series could easily become addictive. That's what has happened to me!

If you are willing to chance the addiction, you like werewolves, or are just looking for something to sink your teeth into, you'll want to read Wolf's Desire.

I received a copy of the book in exchange for my honest opinion. I really liked it. I thought it was a whole lot of story packed into 159 pages and as most good books do, it left me craving more! :D

If you were mated to a werewolf would you want to stay human or be turned?

  1. Great review. I need to read this one. If I were with a werewolf, I would want to be changed so I could experience everything together.

  2. Hum i also missed this series^^ so many good shifters books i still don't know but i 'm glad to hear they can be read out of order and your enthousiasm like always make them even more tempting

now would i want to be changed... i guess it would depend of the kind /specify of the werewolf ( shifting not painful, only when i want not at specific time, etc) but i gues si would want him to love me for me so changing me shouldn't be his priority and become later if it seems to better ( better health, saving me etc)

  3. If I was mated I think I would like t be turned as well but only if we wouldn't be able to function with me being a human. I'd like to stay on equal footing with my mate ;) lol. Wolf's desire sounds amazing!

  4. Thank you for the awesome review for Wolf's Desire :) I'm glad you enjoyed it, and each book have just enough back story so that they may be read out of order.

This is an interesting question. It's easy to choose while in a character's POV, but for myself if I were mated to a werewolf and if one bite could change me, I'd choose to stay in the form that results in the most enjoyment for us as a couple.

If I were mated to a werewolf, I would want to be turned so we could be together in both forms.

  10. I enjoy reading werewolf/shapeshifter books! If I had a werewolf boyfriend I would like to stay human! I guess there are some advantages in being a wolf (like you're part of the pack, extreme strenght, speed...), but turning is painful, so I'd rather stay human :)
Thank you for the post and giveaway!

  12. I would want to be turned so I could be just like him. What's the fun of having a werewolf boyfriend if you can't keep up with him?

  13. Thanks for the interview. I like when you don't have to read them in order.

I may be in the minority, but at least I'm with Miki on this one. ;-) If my being human hadn't been an impediment to our falling in love and being together, then it isn't really an issue, right? It goes both ways, of course: if I fell in love with him and was willing to be with him despite his being a werewolf, then he shouldn't have to relinquish or to be ashamed of that part of him.

On the other hand, relationships themselves go through a lot of shifts, so I'm not closing that door! For instance, if all our children are born shifters, you can bet that I'll want to turned so that I won't be the odd mom out!

  15. Mhm well, I would want to be changed but only if it wasn't painful. I'm a wuss when it comes to pain :-p.

  18. I just finished a 4 book shifter series and am ready for a new one! Will definitely check this out. Sorry, but I would like to stay human. He fell in love with me as a human, so it shouldn't matter if I changed or not. Thanks for a chance to win this book!
