Review ~ Slow No Wake by Dakota Madison

Blurb:

After finding her sister in bed with her fiancĂ©, 25-year old Lexie Wilkins decides to relocate to southwest Florida to start a new life and escape relationships all together. What she doesn’t expect to find are two attractive kite surfers, who both want her.

So much for Lexie’s vow for her fresh start in Florida: a no wake zone. Having two guys in her life is sure to make waves.

Eddie is the captivating bad boy, who lives next door. Daniel is Lexie’s sweet and ruggedly handsome co-worker. The differences between the two men are just as extreme as their sport…

Who will she choose?

My Thoughts:

This book is a New Adult romance and should only be read by adults.

Slow No Wake had two men both interested in the same girl.

I liked Lexie but she didn't seem to know her own mind. Minutes after deciding she didn't want anything to do with men, she was drooling over Eddie the next door neighbor that she had just met. Even when she met Daniel and felt like there was a connection with him, she still thought of Eddie. I can understand being interested in two different men but typically when you decide to go forward with one you give up the other one. Maybe it is just me.

I was instantly abhorred by Eddie's attitude. In contrast, I liked Daniel right away. :-) Maybe it was my feelings for the men that made me dislike the situation. I'm not sure.

I enjoyed the developing romance between Daniel and Lexie despite Eddie's antics.
I both liked and disliked parts of this book. It was enjoyable though.

If you don't mind a heroine who is really wishy washy then you would probably like this book more than me. :D

I received a copy of this book through ATOMR in exchange for my honest opinion. I enjoyed it.

If you haven't read any of Dakota's books yet I suggest reading Matchplay first. They don't go together at all but I liked that one a lot more!

Daniel and Eddie like to surf. Do you?

Oh, dear . . . The main reason I don't like love triangles is that the one in the middle is often very wishy-washy. =/ While I can see why it would take some time to choose between two attractive options, I find that some writers like letting their heroines have their cake and eat it, too, even at the expense of the men's feelings. It's probably wish fulfillment, but I end up identifying with the guys rather than with the girl, so I don't like it.

And no, I've never been surfing, but I'd like to try someday! =)

  2. I'm not in a country for surf so no i never tried and i don't think i would try ( not with my back as it is and my unstable bloodpressure)

Sometimes when there is reason i prefer when no choice is needed but that works only in paranormal for me. in "real" yes one you pick one you forfeit the other you can't play with both to see who lasts it's not fair at all, so i will pass this book but still try the author with matchplay of course ( just when i'm able to read^^;;)

  4. Um... no.. LOL I live outside Chicago. Nowhere to really surf. :) I completely agree with you on once you go forward with one guy you dont start with another, or at least until you break up with the first one.
