VBT: Review ~ Recipe for Love by Darlene Panzera

For fans of Debbie Macomber comes Recipe for Love, the second installment in the Cupcake Diaries series Relationships can be tricky, but will Mike the magician convince Rachel to break her two-date rule? Rachel Donovan believes first dates are fabulous, second dates are fun, but third dates? She never sees a guy three times in a row for fear he'll break her heart, but she's tempted to make an exception when her coworkers, Andi and Kim, hire Mike Palmer to drive their Cupcake Mobile. Mike meets Rachel when he's wearing his black-masked magician costume at a Creative Cupcakes birthday party and then tries to saw her in half. He draws closer while helping Rachel devise promotion plans to outsmart the arrogant new French pastry chef threatening to put the shop out of business. When a rat runs through the middle of her glitzy promo party and the video is uploaded to YouTube, Rachel fears she won't be able to save the shop, help her mother pay for her grandfather's medical treatment, or win back the heart of the one guy she's come to love . . . or will she?

My Thoughts:

This is the second novella in this series. It was quick but good. :-)

There were some very touching moments in this book. Rachel's grandpa is suffering from Alzheimer's. He has days were he doesn't seem to remember anyone and it is very sad.

Rachel and the cupcake clan are still trying to get their shop to be a booming success. There are some fun, sweet, moments in Recipe for Love. While I enjoyed Sweet On You (book one), I liked this one more. There was more romance, more magic, more character development, more cupcakes, just more!

Oh and at the end of the book is a recipe that is just calling out for me to make. It sounds super yummy!

I liked this book and recommend it to anyone who wants a cute, fast, romantically charged book to read.

I received a copy of this book from Tasty Book Tours in exchange for my honest opinion.

  4. This does sound really cute! I love all kinds but I did recently have one that was called like a 'man' lovers cupcake or something it was a chocolate cake with rum in it and it had bacon on it. It was actaully really really good! I also tried a butterfinger cupcake and that was yummy. very sweet but good.

I like red velvet cake batter the best. Some might say red velvet cake is my specialty! ;-) But I'm always looking for new recipes to try, so I might read this book just for the cupcake recipe at the end. =)
