Review of Ripped by Katy Evans

The fifth story in the new adult series that began with the New York Times bestseller REAL.

Every woman wants me–except the one I sing for.

Seattle shakes with anticipation: they call it the concert of the year. They say girls are getting pregnant just thinking about my band being in town.

But when you love a girl, you don’t leave her with nothing but a ring and a promise. Any man with half a brain should know.

So what did I expect my girl would do when she saw me again?

Well, for starters, she loathes our music. Particularly the song I wrote about her.
When I sing it, the stadium is in an uproar. Thousands of fans scream my name like I’m a god–but yeah, not her. Crystal clear: the girl’s not happy to see me.

Black hair, black boots, a bad attitude, that’s her — Pandora Stone is a freaking man-eater and she’s out for my blood.
That’s alright.

Let her come at me. Because I’m out for her heart and, this time, there’s no way she can stop me.

About the Author

Katy Evans grew up with books and book-boyfriends until she found a real sexy boyfriend to love. They married and are now hard at work on their own happily ever after. Katy loves her family and friends, and she also loves reading, walking, baking, and being consumed by her characters until she reaches “The End.” Which is, hopefully, only the beginning…

My Thoughts:

I'll have to re-read the first three to be certain, but as much as I liked them (which was a lot) I think this book was the best so far. Of course I haven't read book four. I feel horrible that I didn't even realize that there was a fourth book! :-(

There was so much animosity between our leading characters. You know how they say that there is a thin line between love and hate? This is a perfect case for that.

Mackenna is our leading man. You wouldn't know it to look at the cover but he has a tattoo. He is a rock star. He's cocky, musically, very talented, he feels deeply, and is sexy.

Pandora is our heroine. Yes, her name is Pandora. She had a deep love for a sweet, considerate and handsome boy when they were seventeen. Then one day when he was supposed to meet her, he never came. She waited and pined. That was six years ago. To say that she still harbors anger toward him for breaking her heart is like saying that I read occasionally.

Pandora is pushed too far when Mackenna and his band Crack Bikini come to her home town to play a concert. She buys tickets and decides to let Mackenna know just how she feels about him when he sings a song about her.

Her actions start a whirlwind of things in motion and her and Mackenna are forced to be close again.

This is a heart wrenching story about unfair judgements, outside interferences, young love, heart break, anger, mistakes, music, decisions and consequences that they cause.

I won't give too much away. This is just sooooooo awesome. I laughed, cheered, got angry, and cried over and over again. The ending was just so very touching.

If you are looking for a fantastic book with a moving plot, words and situations that will bring your feelings to life, plenty of steam and sexiness, and characters that rock, this one is for you!

This book easily stands alone. As I mentioned at the beginning, I did not read the previous book and I had no issues while reading this one.

I received an ecopy in exchange for my honest opinion. I loved this book. I thought it was brilliant!
