VBT: Giveaway & Review ~ Undressed by Avery Aster

This whole post is only meant for ADULTS who like S*X (lol! to read about it, at any rate)

Please be advised that this is not my typical post and I'd advise you to not go further if steamy words offend you!

Blurb:

Content Warning: due to graphic sex scenes, strong language, suggestive themes, mature humor, and just about everything your mother ever told you not to do--including wearing a see-through dress, this novel is for adults only.

Milan's notorious playboy, Massimo Tittoni, seems to have everything--Lamborghinis, exotic women, palaces throughout Europe and business success. Ramping up his fabric company to go global with a new apparel brand, he ruthlessly stops supplying fabrics to the American client who inspired the collection. But once they meet, what's he willing to give to get her in his bed?

Upper East Side designer Lex Easton will be damned if she'll let an Italian stud muffin knock her down. So what if she named her favorite vibrator after him. With Fashion Week approaching, she'll do whatever it takes to secure the fabrics she needs to become the next Diane von Furstenburg-- even sleep with her rival. But when she arrives in Europe the paparazzi chronicles her every move and she finds herself in a situation never imagined. Lex’s Louboutins stilettos are dug in deep to win this war. All’s fair in love and fashion!

Avery Aster's super-glossy debut novel is loaded with passionate escapism, pitting American ambition against Italian tradition. Erotic romance fans who appreciate extended sex scenes, witty banter and glamour mustn't miss Undressed.

Inside Scoop: Though the hero and heroine remain monogamous, their Prada-wearing friends indulge in a ménage a trois and other fashionable sexual fun and games.

• We should all get fucked in Fendi.

Love

• When in love, you can have as many orgasms as you like…in one day!

• Slow dancing to Giuseppe Verdi enhances one’s emotional state.

• Never argue with your lover in public, above all—never in front of Anna Wintour, Marc Jacobs, or Karl Lagerfeld.

My thoughts:

Stylish, talented, business savvy, photo-phobic, loyal, determined, and sex hungry are all descriptions that I would use for Lex Easton.

A royally arrogant, Hot, confidant, entitled, conceited, immodest, egotistical, bold,  hugely cocky (literally) man is how I would describe Prince Massimo Tittoni. That is not to say that he is mean or obnoxious. He is just over confidant. He can be caring, especially with Lex.

Both of these people are in the fashion business. Both will do whatever is necessary to succeed. Lex needs Massimo because she purchases her fabrics from his company. Her shipment is way overdue and she needs the fabric in order to complete her samples for a big fashion show that will help her to keep her company going.

She hunts him down while he is on vacation and relentlessly hounds him to give her the fabrics. He shares some unwelcome news with her about his own company making a clothes line somewhat similar to hers. These two have sparks flying in every type of way. ;-)

They work out an agreement and decide to help each other out. If they have a little fun while at it, all the better.  The only problem with having some fun is that Massimo has been hurt before and he knows that she is not the type of girl to play around with. He is afraid of letting himself feel for Lex so he tries to hold her at arms length. Tries being the operative word here! ;-)

There were many hot, steamy, sexy, lascivious scenes. There was even a menage  with some man love thrown in. The menage did not include either of the main characters. :-)

It was fun, snarky, quirky, hot and sexy. The characters were original, believable, charismatic, and they easily grew on me.

There was a plot in addition to all of the sex! ;-) This is why I read instead of watching t.v.. As for porno movies, I have no idea why anyone would want to watch those when they could be reading instead.  I need more than meaningless sex. Avery delivered big time.

I really like the set up for this series. There are so many diverse characters with different careers. I just know that it is going to be soooo good. :D

I feel that I need to mention that some of the writing is crass and even lewd.

I only had a few disappointments. In the scene near the end of the book with Scilla and Ottavia, I was upset that Massimo wasn't more supportive of Lex.  My biggest problem with the book however is the fact that the Pope is mentioned in a derogatory way. It was irrelevant to the plot, disgusting and offensive to me as a Catholic. Him being included was unnecessary and did nothing to add to the story.

Other than that, I really liked the story. I would recommend this to those of you who have a what to read after Fifty Shades list, or those who are looking for something super Hot. I would not recommend it to anyone easily offended by crass language, multiple partners, man love, hot sexy scenes or the Pope being mentioned in a derogatory way.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinion. Honestly, it was a blazing hot book with a good plot to boot! That is not always an easy combination to find. I  will be eagerly waiting to read the next book in this series, Unscrupulous

How into fashion are you?

  1. Demko darling! OMG! I love-LOVE-love this review. Thank you. You've made my week. And you got the heart of the story. I don't watch or even own a TV either. For me books are that form of entertainment and fun.

Sorry about the Pope. I was on the fence with that one. And as a former catholic turned Episcopalian I had to poke fun at his red Prada slippers and the fact that the rumors in the Vatican (by the peeps who work there) is that he does have a boyfriend. Hence his early retirement.

Seriously though, at the time I was in the edits for this book, The Pope was talking in the press about being anti-gay rights, anti-gay adoption, etc. and my brain sorta slipped him in as having an affair with a hot butler in UNDRESSED named Rocco. Think of it as doing him a favor, I turned from being a homophob into a loving homosexual with a very hot yummy man. Wait till you read book two and see what happens with the Taddy's Mormon virgin assistant. Oh boy! (see humor to hide the pain)

    xo,
    Avery

    1. I was just happy that you didn't go into detail or give him a scene. That would've been too much for me.

I didn't like his inclusion but I didn't stop reading either. :D Obviously I liked your book more than enough to make me over look something offensive to me.

I am eagerly waiting for Unscrupulous. I hope we'll see Masi and Lex again too.

    2. Hey if nothing else, because it may be controversial, you'll get attention either way. Some people will read it just to find out what was said, some will applaud your effort and some will say bad things which will undoubtedly lead others to read it. Marketing genius! lol! :D

    3. Hi Brenda,

Not matter how crazy my mind may be, I don't think I could write the Pope...naked. LOL! ;-)

  2. oki i guess it's a too hot book for me but i appreciate your honest review as always. i guess i would have been a little put off because of the Pope mention ( i'm not a fan of him but still respect is the minimum)while it wasn't relevant for the story.
However i would prefer to read it that to see a film that's for sure

now... am i into fashion?.... i guess i must say not at all^^;; i prefer to be comfortable and not to paid a lot for clothes ( hey what i'm sparing can go into books that's the biggest motivation ever for me^^)... it coulde evn be called a disaster. i'm only starting to try to improve a little meaning i try to put decollete instead of only turtleneck sweater ( still i would prefer those but i was told that if you have a gigger bosom the turtleneck was really not appropriate so i did find some really conservative neckline but that's it.

Normally i will get at least a fashion bag ^^ a fashion designer, book friend, made one for me ^^ and i'm so happy it's really good looking and praticable!! so i will wear it with pride when i do receive it. that's the only " fashion" thing i will have ( and belive me most of the timei don't understand the trends) but since this friend went to the fashion week that's what intrigued and caught my interest in teh summary^^

    1. I was very disappointed when Pope Benedict resigned. It has never been done and I feel that he is selfish. If Pope John Paul II could do the job in the state he was in at the end, then there is no reason he couldn't as well. He should not have taken the job in the first place.

I prefer comfort too and usually I don't like what the trendy people are wearing. I am a bigger girl and the clothes that I do like tend to not be available in my size. :(

    2. so true so true and that the fashion trends are rarely for normal sized person is even more true^^

    3. Hi Miki,

The great thing with stores like H&M and Zara is that fashion can be affordable. I agree with you on the handbags. A good back is an essential. I hope you have fun with Lex and Massimo in UNDRESSED.

      Hugs,
      Avery

    4. Hi Miki,

Interesting that you should mention the 'normal' size issue as it relates to Lex. Her brand, Easton Essentials was started because her and her mother couldn't wear the department store sizes.

  3. I'm a fan of 50 Shades, so glad to find another 'what to read after.' :) As far as fashion, I do follow trends. I won't wear something if it doesn't look good on me or I don't care for it. So yes, but I'm not a slave to it.

  5. I do like a contemporary erotic romance with a lot of witty banter and sizzle and I LOVE the NY setting...it's close to home for me...but just from the New Yorker Insights, I can tell that some of the quips and comments will likely soar right over my head. I am woefully un-hip!

  6. This book surpasses erotic romances. It has a PLOT. It's not repetitive. It's witty, it's interesting, it's enticingly sexual and I am waiting for book 2!!! Avery Aster is my new go to erotic novelist. Thank you!!

She's on my go to list as well.

  7. I must say that Undressed one of the best contemporary erotic romance I have read!

Loved the main characters, Masi & Lex were both very strong as well as HOT!

Also really enjoyed that Undressed was not 100% based in the US and was set in Europe. As the majority of Romance books settings are in the US, this book took me away! Finally!!

Lex's friends: I really enjoyed each of them. With their own personality, especially Taddy. She seemed the most sassy and definitely told it like it was. She was so FUNNY! I loved how the characters were a bit older and NOT in their late teens or early 20's! It felt more of a realistic storyline due to their ages. More mature, some of their trials and tribulations I could relate to like their work struggles, friendships and love life.

Cant wait for the next book!
    Wink...wink ;-)

  9. I love your warning at the beginning. :) I may have to try this one. 50 shades was ok but I like alot of other erotica better. Though Im glad you let me know about the Pope thing. Some stuff you just dont need to add to books. I was raised Catholic and I may not always agree with everything but I dont think people need to put their views into writing. As for fashion. I like cute affordable clothes. But they dont always have the cute ones in my size. At least not cheap. :( Im not huge but im not one of those stick thin people. They seem to think that being "bigger" means you dont like to look as good?

  10. Congratulations on the publication of Undressed! Sounds like an exciting book. Since it is set in the fashion industry, it reminds me of The Devil Wears Prada. I especially enjoyed the 25 New Yorker insights and the great review. As far as fashion is concerned, I'm very conservative and don't really follow the trends.

After reading the comments, I don't think I would be able to overlook that bit about the Pope. I understand where the author is coming from, but I don't go in for that kind of fun. In general, moreover, I'm opposed to writers taking liberties with real people. It happens most often in Historical novels, for obvious reasons, but this is a reminder that it happens in Contemporaries as well. Again, I get that it was done in the creative spirit of "What if . . .?" but I personally draw the line when it comes to real people.

  13. If you mean my own style, then very LOL But, if you mean the type of fashion that run way models wear... then nope, not much. I like what I like and I don't care if it's considered in style or not.
