ARC Review ~ Catalyst by Jennifer Snyder
Sometimes who we really are lies buried just beneath the surface…
After learning she’s inherited a house in the beachside town of Soul Harbor, Georgia, Addison Harmon and her best friend decided to take a much needed vacation before the pressures of life after high school suffocate them too heavily.
But what Addison finds isn’t a chance to recoup from a bad break up and hang out with her best friend while she decides what she wants to do with her future. What she finds is Kace Sullivan—a sexy guy she can’t seem to get enough of—someone who with one touch reveals a seductive world full of magick and secrets Addison isn’t sure she’s ready to be a part of.

My Thoughts:
Catalyst was a quick read. I was so engrossed in the story that time just flew by and before I knew it I was finishing the last page.
Jennifer really knows how to pull you in. Each of her books that I've read have been that way for me. Catalyst was no different!
The story focuses on Elementals, people that have magick. Each one of them can work with one element water, earth, wind or fire. However in order for them to use their magick, all four have to be present together.
Apparently when Addison moves into the house her deceased biological mother left her it enables three other elementals to feel their magick too. The only difference is that they know about magick and she doesn't. She is the catalyst that will enable them to use their magick!
In this book Addison begins learning about her biological family and the magick that she holds inside herself.
While she is discovering herself and uncovering secrets, someone is out to get her.
This was a fantastic beginning to a magickal new series.
In between the pages of this book you will find sacrifice, love, secrets, romance, magick, cats, hoodoo, a scary soul sucking creature, and an ending that you will not see coming!
I recommend this book for those of you who like magickal stories.
I received an ARC copy from the author in exchange for my honest opinion.
I thought it was really good. It was a super start for what I'm sure will be a spell binding series. Bring on the next book! I am more than ready for it. :D
If you were an elemental which would you hope to wield, earth, fire, water, or wind?

i remember we were a bit surprised by teh cover ^^ ( still think she look arrogant on it) but your review made it clear that the content is really wonderful so i will cave and add it to the list.
ReplyDeleteAs for wich element i would like to wield... i guess water because it can be devastating yes ( so it can be used in self defense and attack when needed) but it's an element we always have with is and one needed to live so healing abilities too.... it's the element i 'm more at ease with i guess ( even if i don't like the rain ;) )
lol! I do like the rain. I don't like getting wet but I find it comforting to listen to the sound of the reain hitting the roof.
DeleteI'd probably like to feel in tune with the earth.
I love going to bed listening to it! :)
Deleter-a-i-n I can spell! lol!
DeleteIt can easily lull me to sleep as well. :-)
I think I'd pick earth. I've always been a big fan of nature. Ive been meaning to read this series. I should move it up on my to buy list. :)
