Winners, Winners, and more Winners!

Okay so I have a lot of winners to announce! I always have the Rafflecopter display the winner as soon as they have responded to the email. Sometimes I don't get around to "formally" announcing it. With so many giveaways going on right now, I wanted to display the winners that have indeed been confirmed.

I'm going to start with My Christmas Wishes giveaway which was held at the beginning of Dec.

The winner was Ellz Readz! She choose Beautiful Redemption.

Mid-Winter's Eve Giveaway~ Dec. 21st - 27th.

The winner was Maija S. who chose Paper Towns by John Green.

Blogoversary giveaway Day One~ 5 winners got a Kindle book.

Sarah H. chose and received The Truth About Faking It.

Carmen B. was a little more complicated. :(  She choose Running Wide Open by Lisa Nowak.

I couldn't purchase it for her because it is free right now but she is not in the US and it was not free in her country. Unfortunately she had to choose another book. She ended up choosing My Favorite Mistake.
She was very understanding but I still feel terrible about it. I decided this morning to send her a giftcard so that she could purchase the book for herself! It was a duh why didn't I think of this sooner moment. lol!

Jen W. chose My Favorite Mistake.

Elizabeth chose Broken by C.K. Bryant.

Cathy H. responded back to me but still has not decided on which book she wants. So she hasn't gotten her prize yet. (through no fault of my own!)

Blogoversary giveaway Day Two ~ a book from one of my favorite steamy authors.

The winner was Kah C. and she chose Amaury's Hellion by Tina Folsom. This is book two in The Scanguard vampire series.

Blogoversary giveaway Day Three ~ a book from one of my favorite authors.

Miki was the winner and she chose Fated by Rebecca Zanetti.

Blogoversary giveaway Day Four~ The prize was supposed to be Elixir by JLA. I felt bad though because my question in the Rafflecopter confused people so I gave the winners their choice of Elixir or Daimon paperback or an ebook of Half-Blood or one of the Lux books. The prices were comparable.

Caroline M. chose the paperback of Daimon.

Linda H. chose the paperback of Daimon as well.

Ashfa chose the Kindle book of Half-Blood.

Blogoversary Day Five ~ Amazon giftcard or book from TBD?

Cordelia was the winner and she chose and received the giftcard.

I'm still in the process of contacting the winners for Day Six, Seven, and Eight.

Here is a question for you. In your awesome opinion, what is the best prize that I could offer in a giveaway. Please keep in mind that I am a stay at home mother and most of my giveaways (other than the tour wide giveaways) are self sponsored. In other words I pay for the prizes. I don't think I'll be offering a Kindle or Nook, although I would love too!

I'd love to know what you're thinking. Please leave a comment!

  1. As far as giveaways go, I always love books or amazon gc so I can get books. Even the one's that are .99 cents on Amazon, I have read some amazing books that didn't cost much. Like The Coincidence of Callie and Kayden by Jessica Sorensen (BEST .99 cents I ever spent)!

    1. I try to offer a variety. But I usually shy away from Kindle books because while very affordable (in most cases) not everyone has access to Amazon.

I wish I knew of an ebook style TBD where everyone had equal access to it.

  2. Being international i love signed books and such but being realistic a choice of prize like you did is wonderful.
or kind like: x dollars amount either as a gift card or from bookdepository is also really great ^^

oh i also loved getting a booklight from gonereading!

( so don't worry we are happy with nearly anything ^^ the only thing i like less( or not at all) is digital book ( kindle i hate)beacuse i can't read them except in pdf ( wghich i have to print so in teh end the print book can be cheaper. i know there are application and such but the reality is: it doesn't always works!

    1. I've heard other people say the same things. That's way I seldom give ebooks as a prize. I like to try to include everyone!

  3. Thank you!!
I am a single mom, so I know giveaways are tough (unless you can work with a fabulous publisher). I use swagbucks, but earns you points for seaching the internet (which I do anyways). I redeem the points for amazon gc's or paypal cash (which I use at the Book Depository for prizes). I like the GC's (when hosting) so I can include international entrants. To enter, I'm not picky. I can't wait to read my prize. Thanks again!

  4. Hey :) Really, please stop feeling bad about the book!! It was sooo nice of you to give me that GC and totally unexpected!
I'm a student and part-time worker, so I know how you feel about spending money on giveaways... personally, I like it when bloggers offer a selection of books to choose from that they then order for you on The Book Depository (free international shipping). I like giftcards, but somehow I prefer being given a number of books to choose from. I've discovered many great books through that (even if I didn't necessarily win). Especially during themed giveaway hops I sometimes feel like it's a bit lame or lazy if the blogger just offers up a giftcard. Isn't the point to spread the word about awesome books?
Oh, and since I'm international I of course love it if it's not US only. I completely understand if signed books can't be shipped internationally (I once paid 18$ to ship a book) but I'm always very grateful when the blogger offers an alternative for internationals, for example an ebook copy of the same book.
Great question! I've been thinking about making a poll about that myself to figure out what people want :)

    2. I don't mind spending some money. I just like to know that the money is buying prizes that people actually want. :D

I love when people get excited for a prize! I was glad to send you the giftcard. :D

  6. Congratulations to all the winners!!
I like giveaways that are either forwards (Amazon,B&N's,etc) or book of choosing. I like these because No matter anyone's taste in books they can enter. I understand that giveaways are pricey & each one is greatly appreciated.
E-books are usually cheaper so they are always a good option.
    Have a great weekend!!

    1. E books are cheaper but not everyone can access them.

The same thing with gift cards.

I like to offer books from The Book Depository because almost everyone can take part.

Even when I offer books to choose from, I try to add a mixture of genres.

    Congratulations to all the winners!

While I see that it's easier for everyone for the prize to be a gift card or a book of the reader's choice, I really like it when a contest adds a special restriction. I recall entering one hosted by a red-haired blogger who offered only books with ginger protagonists as prizes! It's fun to make the prize fit a theme once in a while, and if you're doing it as part of a hop, it will help your blog to stand out. =)

    1. I think I entered that same giveaway. lol!

While standing out can be great, I'm more about follower satisfaction.

I would just like to offer what people want (that I can actually afford)! :D

  8. I like gift cards. It works out too because if you win gift cards or earn gift cards through winning other contests, gifts, or through sites like Bing Search or Swagbucks, which can help you keep your costs down (most of my giveaways are self-sponsored as well). Plus, these kinds of giveaways are usually popular since people essentially get to choose their prize after winning.

Also, I recommend using Bing Search and Rewards. I've won over $20 in Starbucks gift cards for free just for using Bing. Plus, you can win other types of gift cards, like Amazon cards. If you aren't signed up, you can do so here:
