VBT: Review and Interview with Milly Taiden author of Wynter's Captive

Being held captive for winter never felt so good.

Lili is on her way to her cousin’s wedding when she thinks she hit a man in the road. Leaving the safety of her car to check on him turns out the be a big mistake, and pretty soon Lili is being abducted and held against her will by a super-sexy wolf who her body longs to touch. But just because he’s hot doesn’t mean she’s going to remain a captive.

Cade is not just an alpha, he’s a very wealthy man, used to getting what he wants. So when he attempts to abduct his ex-friend’s fiancĂ©, he doesn’t expect to wind up with the wrong woman. Just how did he wind up with the maid of honor? And why does the woman melt every inch of him? But when the woman escapes, real danger awaits. And Cade must convince her to see beyond his deception if he wants to keep her alive.

Milly TaidenAbout the Author:

Milly Taiden was born in the prettiest part of the Caribbean known as the Dominican Republic. She grew up between New York, Florida and Massachusetts. Currently, she resides in New York City with her husband, bossy young son and their little dog Speedy.

She began writing when she learned to put words together and her first book consisted of two homeless dogs living in a park for her second grade English class. She didn’t win a prize, but she acquired a love for writing that never went away.

When she’s not working full-time, texting with her best friend Heidi in England, chastising her son for pulling the dog’s ears, shopping with her sister Jewel or watching scary movies with her husband, she can be found writing on her laptop. She’s addicted to shoe shopping, chocolate and Dunkin Donuts coffee.

A major reader when she can get her hands on a good book, she loves reading all Mina Carter, Cynthia Eden, Cynthia Sax among others

Milly Taiden allowed me to interview her. :D

Which of your characters are your favorite to write? the easiest? the hardest? the most fun? I think for this book my favorite was definitely Lili. I was laughing for the first half of the story and giggling sporadically throughout. She truly was a fun one to write. The hardest had to be Cade. I find I question myself a lot on the maleness and if they are alpha enough. *sigh* but I do my best. You did great!

Do you have to concentrate and visualize the story or do ideas just randomly come to you when you're out and about? Both. I can easily visualize the story, but sometimes I’m out and have to pull out a notepad and make notes on something I want to expand or change.

What or who inspires you? Everything and everyone. I find inspiration from my co-workers and the stories they tell me about their daily lives. I find inspiration in bits of movies or even from my own son and his strange child/adult conversations he has with me.

What book would you like to see made into a movie? Hm. I love all wolves and would love to see any of them made into a movie. But I think the biggest one would have to be my Deadly Desire book. It’s under my April Angel name and will be out in April. LOL. It’s a romantic suspense and a fantastic story.

Beef, chicken, pork, or vegetarian? I am the biggest meat eater in the world. I’d be willing to sacrifice anything but meat. Love pork, beef and chicken, but I am a seafood lover too. Ok, the truth is I just love food. :D I love food too but I'm horribly picky when it comes to meat.

If you could pick any destination, where would you go? Fiji. I’ve always wanted to visit. I see the gorgeous photos from friends who have been and I am so jealous. The place seems so soothing, like I’d end up with mountains of ideas for new stories.

Elevator or stairs? Elevators. I am lazy. lol! Unfortunately, most of the time I am too.

Which new release are you most looking forward to reading? I think Solar Storm by my good friend Mina Carter. It just came out and I have it in my tbr pile. The cover alone is amazing.

What is your favorite part of the day? Night time. I get so many great ideas and it’s like all of a sudden my brain decided to work.

Favorite T. V. show? celebrity? Big Bang Theory. I love LOVE LOVE Sheldon!!!

Homebody or social butterfly? Depends on my mood but mostly homebody.

What is your favorite favorite splurge? Chocolate and Shoes. lol! What a strange combination. ;-)

Thank you for taking the time to answer my questions.

Thanks for allowing me to visit your blog and for reading my book :D

Any time! I loved Wynter's Captive and Mr.Buff too! I will gladly read your books. :D

My Thoughts:

Awesome! Wynter's Captive was a quick, Hot, werewolf read. I hope there will be more to come. Cade has lots of followers and Brandon has lots of brothers so I really hope this was the first book in what will become a series. I would eagerly read more about these hunky wolves! ;-)

This book was Hot did I mention that? It was also funny, Some of my favorite lines were:

Maybe she'd dropped acid and forgot? ~ Lili referring to herself

I'm keeping you and there will be no deal! ~ Cade speaking to Lili

If you turn me into some weird cannibalistic meal I am going to haunt you for the rest of your miserable life! ~ Lili speaking to Cade

Dude, what can I say? I loved, loved, loved this book.

It had an ugly dress, a wedding, action, romance, hot men/werewolves, steamy action, a kidnapping, misunderstandings, and rogue wolves!

Lili is strong, stubborn, wild and no one tells her what to do. Cade is used to everyone doing what he wants. Imagine his surprise, when this woman has the will to yell at him!

He can't believe that he found his mate! Then he finds out that he didn't grab the right woman. lol! Cade sure gets himself in hot water. Watching him squirm was just what he deserved.

I strongly suggest that everyone who likes hot werewolf books, reads this one! You really don't want to miss it!

Thank you to Bewitching Book Tours and Milly Taiden for giving me a copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinion. This book was terrific!

Is the idea of being held captive hot or not?

I'd love to know what you're thinking. Please leave a comment!

While I'm sure no one would really want to be held captive by a stranger (Or am I just speaking for myself again? =P), I can definitely see the appeal of it. Wynter's Captive is precisely the type of book that I'd shelve in the Guilty Pleasure section of my library. ;-)

    1. I wasn't sure if I was alone in my thinking or not. Obviously I would never want that to really happen to anyone. I love reading stories about it however. ;->

  2. ...hold captive by a werewolf that's something ^^;; i would prefer that to a mad, saddistic or whatever human man ( i would be more terrified too since the human goesn't have a little prtotective instinct at all)
so in real not but i love ready story with it sometimes ^^

^^ you really made me think it was one book for me^^

  5. In real life, not hot. In book life, definitely lots of potential for naughtiness.

  6. In theory being kept captive sounds hot, but I'm not so sure it'd work out as well in real life.

  7. How did I miss this book review? Sounds good!
Being held captive by a hot, wealthy alpha male who makes your mouth water...hmmm, lost train of thought there. Yes, it's a bit hot.
However, being captive by anyone else is NOT hot, it would freak me out!
