Review & Giveaway ~ LOVE TKO by Selene Chardou

Blurb

An Irish Mixed Martial Artist who is fighting for the UFC Championship in Las Vegas.

A beautiful hustler who is counting the clock down to her twenty-eighth birthday when she can finally retire and enjoy her life.

A chance encounter that changes both of their lives forever.

“I can’t allow what I feel for him to stop me from seeing the end goal. I never wanted this to be my life and in six months, it no longer will be.

“But there is something about Torin Duffy that makes my heart race, and creates a shortness of breath I have never felt in my life.

“I’m jaded; part of me feels like I am unlovable but when I am with him, he makes me feel wanted, needed, protected and it’s a slow burn that is leisurely turning me inside out and my emotions upside down.

“We both know how dangerous this is but nothing can stop the hurricane of emotions we make each other feel, and his touch is so dangerous, I know he could leave me broken beyond repair.

“How do we stop something that can destroy us both? Why should he risk what he’s wanted his whole life over me?

“We both know where this is leading but how can we stop it when it’s too late to turn back now?” - Chiara Bassi

My Thoughts:

This book was meant for adults only!!!! It was fairly predictable but I enjoyed it. :-) The POV bounced back and forth between Chiara and Torin.

Chiara had a tough childhood. She was the daughter of a high priced escort and a gangster. The gangster wanted nothing to do with her and though the mother made sure that she had the necessities, she was no where near the perfect mom showering her children with love and affection. When Chiara was still a teen, her mother split to go marry a man and left Chiara to take care of herself and her older sister who was not well.

Chiara, being the big hearted person that she is, made a decision to follow in her mother's line of work so that she could take care off her sister.

Torin, a well known fighter on his way to the championship match, has demons of his own. This is one of the reasons that he doesn't date. Oh he has women galore, but only in the physical sense.

When these two meet, they each feel a connection and can see that each other is scarred.

The road to happiness is anything but easy for these two.

There were lots of steamy scenes, some romance, fighting, and threats and danger in this book.

I received an ecopy of the book in exchange for my honest opinion. It was pretty good. I'll probably continue reading this series. I want to see what is in store for the rest of the Duffy family and hopefully get more glimpses of Torin and Chiara. ;-)
