Review ~ Conquer Your Love by J.C. Reed

Here is the blurb from Goodreads:

Meeting Jett was like bad luck. Dangerous. Unpredictable. And better avoided. In his game, the stakes are high. But are they worth the risk?

Brooke Stewart, a realtor in New York, finds forgetting is hard, but forgiving is harder. When the man she trusted, betrayed her, the only way to forget is to move on. Brooke is determined to start a new life, until she meets him again: the green-eyed, sexy as sin, six foot two sex god. The man who played dirty. The man who played her.

Sexy, rich, and arrogant Jett Mayfield knows he has made mistakes. He could have any other woman, and yet it’s Brooke he wants. When second chances collide with secrets and Brooke is threatened by the past, Jett is determined to protect her. She accepts his help unwillingly because she needs him but she wants to play his game on her own terms. And she has no intention to forgive or let him back into her bed.

When the man she is supposed to hate is the one she should trust, will he conquer her…or lose her forever?

A woman who can’t forgive.

A man who has made mistakes.

Two lives that are about to cross again and more secrets laid bare.

You can read my review of book one, Surrender Your Love here.

My thoughts:

That cover is really fitting, simple, and hot. ;-)

You want to read Surrender Your Love first. Don't start with Conquer Your Love!

Suspense ~ check, danger ~ check, romance ~ check, check, check, action~ check, super sizzling scenes ~ check, as I'm sure you've deduced, this book has it all. After being disappointed with the last four romances that I've read, I am overjoyed with this book, especially ending! :-)

Brooke is trying to decide what she'll do with the estate that she is going to inherit. She is trying to get over Jett and the betrayal that she felt at his hands too. While she is at a club with Sylvie, In walks Jett and her will power is greatly tested. She agrees to meet with him again to discuss the danger that he insists she's in.

Jett was wonderful in this book. He was super sweet and caring, not to mention possessive as well. ;-)

There were twists and turns that I didn't see coming just like in the first book. It was awesome! I am really intrigued to find out who's the driving force behind the bad guys. What exactly did this club do that was so bad that they would kill to keep their secrets hidden? Oh and I am also interested to see if Sylvie and Kenny will work out. *fingers crossed*

Conquer Your Love was everything that I hoped it would be and more! I can't say it enough. I loved seeing Jett consumed with love for Brooke. I hope that he doesn't change in Treasure Your Love. I will be waiting to read it and find out. :D
I recommend this book and series to everyone who likes their books with lots of sizzle, suspense, and surprise. If you enjoy books like Fifty Shades, you definitely want to check this series out. For those of you who didn't like Fifty, you should still give it a chance. There is so much more to these books that you're bound to like them. :-)   I received an ecopy of this book from the author in exchange for my honest opinion. Thank you Jessica! If you haven't figured it out already, I LOVED it. It was marvelous!

If you thought your man betrayed you, would you be willing to give him a second chance?

  3. Ok she seriously gets really hot covers! I still need to read the first one! I have it in my pile! And I would like to think that I would. Everyone deserves a second chance but again I would probably have to be in the situation because I could say yes now but I wouldnt really know unless it happened to me.

    1. hum not sure every one is deserving of a second chance it really depends on the fault he did ^^ i will wait you read it so you can tell me what you though of book 1 too^^ but from brenda recommandation it's better i wait until teh series is completed in my case

    2. I guess it just depends on the crime. I know that if I'm hurt by something it may take me alot of time to forgive but I believe in second chances. Well unless its like murder or something.

    3. I read something recently that really struck a cord and I thought was really great advice. Everyone deserves a chance, sometimes even a fourth or fifth. We all make mistakes but they dont define who we are. Its how we decide to fix them and if we truly want to repent from them.
I really liked that. I find it fitting.

    5. ...still depends on the "mistakes" for me...to take a really strong example a child abuser... do you forgive the first one? does he gets pardon and abuse another one still forgive? he get how many chances?

    6. Oh no those I totally wouldnt forgive. Its really all about the crime I guess. I do believe people can repent but Im not saying I will ever forgive or forget if someone like molested a child or something. But there are shades of greys in other areas.

  4. If I were betrayed, I don't think I would give him a second chance. I would have a very hard time trusting him again.
