Homecoming by Cecilia Robert ~ review & giveaway

Book Description:

Five years ago, twenty-three-year-old panther shifter Sera Czedar left her home and her newly mated groom in a humiliating position after a mating ceremony gone wrong. She built a new life for herself in Varselles, the City of Outcasts where shifters exiled from their clans in the Seven Kingdoms can go for sanctuary.

Five years ago, panther shifter Levian Grayson was abandoned on the bonding bed by his bride, Sera. After years of tracking her, he arrives in Varselles, intent on staking his claim on her once and for all, even if it means hauling her over his shoulder just to make sure that happens.

Sera has always known her homecoming would eventually catch up with her one day. The one thing she can’t bear to do is hurt Levian, which will happen as soon as he finds out the reason she left him. Is she ready to take that path? Most of all, will Levian still want her when the truth comes out?

My Thoughts:

This book was a quick read. I could not pass up the opportunity to try this series as I have been eyeing it for awhile now but was unsure whether I would like a steam punk type book or not.

I now know not to be so afraid to try steam punk. I liked it quite alot.

Sera was the daughter of the Alpha and was looked up to by the other clan members. She loved twin brothers and thought she was "in love" with one of them. When it came time for the males to pick their mates, the brother she though she loved the most didn't claim her. Shocked, embarrassed and with a secret or two under her belt, she ran leaving the other brother, Levian, heart broken and missing the mate that he claimed as his.

Five years later, she has been found and he refuses to let her escape him again regardless of why she ran.

This novella was full of action, some suspense, romance, animosity, secrets, and shifters.

I have no fear of reading more books in this series now. :-)

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this novella to anyone, especially those of you who, like me, crave shifter stories.

I received an ecopy of this book in exchange for my honest opinion. I honestly thought it was pretty good for a short story.

  2. I read this novella awhile back and really loved it. I loved the shifter aspect mixed with steampunk and that Sera was such a strong and intelligent heroine. I have been eagerly awaiting the first book in the series to see what happens now that they are together.

  6. Love the sound of this series, shifters get me every time, I have read a few steam punk and liked them but admit shifters are my favourite so mixing the two way to go.
