Are you excited about the upcoming Vampire Academy movie?

St. Vladimir’s Academy isn’t just any boarding school—it’s a hidden place where vampires are educated in the ways of magic and half-human teens train to protect them. Rose Hathaway is a Dhampir, a bodyguard for her best friend Lissa, a Moroi Vampire Princess. They’ve been on the run, but now they’re being dragged back to St. Vladimir’s—the very place where they’re most in danger...

Rose and Lissa become enmeshed in forbidden romance, the Academy’s ruthless social scene, and unspeakable nighttime rituals. But they must be careful lest the Strigoi—the world’s fiercest and most dangerous vampires—make Lissa one of them forever.

I Loved this whole series!!!! I am excited to go see the movie but I'm a little nervous too.

Movies are hardly ever as good as the books are and it doesn't help that the guy that will play Dimitri doesn't look like I pictured him. I was hoping for someone who looked like the cover model. ;-)

Anyway, I can't wait!!!! If you liked this series as much as I did, consider voting for it on the MTV Movie Brawl. it is ahead right now and I'd like to see it go all the way! You can go and vote here. If you have trouble viewing anything, try a newer browser like Mozilla. that's what I had to do!

    1. You really should finish these books. I LOVED them.

I'll let you know what I thought after I see the movie. I have to wait a few extra days because my neice is going with me and I have to wait for her schedule to be open. The movie will open on a Friday but we will go on Monday.

i have the first book of the spin off but haven't been able to make myself read it because the focus shifted from Rose and I don't know if I'd like it as much.

  2. I enjoyed the books series, but I have zero excitement for the movies. The trailer just looks beyond cheesy and I am not attracted to the movie Dimitri at all.

  4. I loved these too!!! I really want to see the movie but like you I don't hold my breathe that it will be as good. I do like the girl they cast for Rose, she seems like she can do sarcastic well. :) but I'm with you on Dimitri. But honestly I never think that they cast right in any books to movies so I try not to judge til I see it.

    1. I thought they did well with Harry Potter but I saw the movie before I read the books. I think that makes a difference in how I perceived the characters.

    2. They cast that one really well. I always seperate movies though. Otherwise I will hate every one they do! My biggest disappointment was Blood and Chocolate. I LOVED that book and then the movie came out and it was nothing like it. I was so mad but the movie itself is good if you aren't comparing it to the book.

  5. I enjoyed the Vampire Academy series, but I probably won't see the movie. I usually prefer the book and am frequently disappointed in the movie version.

    1. I feel the same way but I can't help but go and find out just how far from the mark it will be. I guess I'm a glutton for punishment!
