Only a fool would think they could steal from a werewolf …

Anticipating a quiet night alone with the man she loves, Darcy’s world is sent into a spin with the arrival of someone from the past—Mason’s. She is further shocked by the intruder’s claim she may not even be the true mate of the Mystic Wolves Alpha. Accusations start to fly, leading to her new enemy being granted asylum, and this is just the beginning of trouble.

Relying on the reassurances of Mason and the support of her friends and Pack, Darcy soon falls under attack. Suspicions are raised, and with no other choice, she must flee with Devlin to safety where hopefully they can untangle the lies hidden behind the use of magic. Time is quickly ticking away, leading to a showdown where everything is on the line.

They need to uncover the truth before it’s too late, or once again, Darcy will need to fight to hold onto her dreams.

Nothing burns as bright as the flames of the refiner’s fire.

Moments after hearing the Council sentence her enemy to life imprisonment for attempted murder and illegal use of magic, Darcy is whisked away by the Fates—accused of tampering with destiny. The cherished dream she shared with Mason has been called into question, placing doubt about whether they are actually true mates. To resolve it, a price must be paid—the Heart or Death—a grueling series of tests designed to reveal a person’s worth.

The stakes are high and Darcy finds herself facing the unknown in conditions that leave her more vulnerable than she’s ever been. Separated from Mason and her Pack, with Devlin as her only companion, she is pushed to her very limits. She must succeed—or lose everything.

Will she crumble under the pressure or emerge stronger for testing fate?

My Thoughts:

The Mystic Wolves is yet another werewolf series that I gladly follow. This particular series is YA. I have to mention that each book seems to end in a cliff hanger. Belinda seems to love keeping us on the edge of our seats. :D

In the first book, The Mystic Wolves, we meet the main characters Mason, the Alpha, and Darcy his mate.

In addition to introducing us to the cast of characters, in this book we find action, romance, danger, an evil agenda, and some sad happenings.

This first book was a great start to this terrific series.

The second book, Forget Me Not, is packed with romance, lies, danger, angst, magic, plots, and a boat load of action. This book had me on pins and needles. I was so worked up. I could not walk away until I was at the end and I knew everything was okay.

In this book, Mason's past comes back to bite him in the form of a wicked wolf named Amber. Can you tell that I don't like her character? Anyway, she wants Mason even though he is obviously happy with his choice of mate and she doesn't want to take no for an answer. She can be pretty conniving and that makes for one heck of a nerve wracking story.

I liked this book but out of all three this is my least favorite because it had me so worked up.

Last but not least, is book three, Testing Fate. I don't want to give too much away so I'm sorry if some of what I say seems cryptic or confusing.

At the end of the second book, Mason and Darcy's mate status is called into question. The fates come and whisk them away. Basically they are given no choice and they  have to go through a series of greusome tests to prove their worth and essentially that they belong together.

This book proved that Darcy was made of tough stuff. The poor thing kept going strong even when they asked more from her than she could bear.

After the tests were completed, came my favorite parts of the book. Wow! I just wish it hadn't been interrupted. Even though it was, it was well worth the wait.

We meet a couple of new characters in this book. Her mom's hair dresser is a supe named Mikey. I don't know if he'll be more involved in this series or not but I'm betting he will. There is also Mason's cousin Alex. For some reason, I am anxious about him. Why am I always so leery?

Anyway, this book had it all and then some! There was action, sacrifice, memory loss, danger, a wicked whench, a greusome wolf fight, a white dress, and an explosive and surprising ending.

This series just keeps going in new ways that I never see coming. I thought this book was awesome and I am impatiently waiting for the next book. :-)

I recommend this series to everyone who likes werewolf books. As I've already mentioned these books are appropriate for any age reader.

I received an ecopy of Testing Fate in exchange for my honest opinion. I had already purchased and read the other two books. I honestly like this series a lot. Although it is not hot and heavy with the loving like some of the wolf books I read, it is far from lacking. The kisses that Mason and Darcy share are hot enough to curl your toes and the books are fast paced. You will not find a dull moment in any of the books.

If you found your soul mate but everyone questioned your relationship, would you endure a greuling test to prove it to everyone else?

  2. I usually don't like cliff hangers but based on your review I'm tempted. I really like the covers of these books and I like my wolf shifters. I'm going to take advantage of the free book and possibly wait to read it when the last one is released. Thanks so much :)

Hmmmm. Tricky question. In a sense, everything becomes a grueling test when the people in your life question your relationship. But only if you give them that power. I know a woman who married a man whom her family thought was bad news. When he lost his job and they had a couple of lean years, her family refused to help out. It was really as if it were some sort of test of the quality of their relationship. But it was very cold of her family and it made them look just as bad as they thought he was. (Unfortunately, there's a sad ending. This couple couldn't take the pressure and broke up.)

To answer more directly, I would be willing to weather the storms with the one I love--but simply because I love him and not because I want to prove anything to anyone. If they won't accept the relationship, that's their problem, not mine. But of course, I'm not reckoning on the fates stepping in and giving us no choice. LOL! ;-)

  5. It does not matter if everyone questioned the relationship, I would still remain with my soul mate through good times and bad.

This sounds like an interesting series. Love the covers.
