Review ~ Chasing Mrs. Right by Katee Robert

A while ago I read Wrong Bed, Right Guy by Katee Robert. I liked it but I had forgotten about it until I started reading Chasing Mrs. I realized that it was the second book in that same series.  :-)

Blurb:

Seducing Mr. Wrong has never felt so right...

Prim and proper art gallery coordinator Elle Walser is no good at seducing men. Heck, she’s been throwing hints at her boss for months, but he’s completely clueless. Desperate to escape her mother’s matchmaking efforts, she comes up with a plan—buy some lingerie and climb into her boss’s bed. The plan goes brilliantly…until she accidentally seduces a sexy stranger instead.

Bad boy nightclub mogul Gabe Schultz just had the best almost-sex of his life. Too bad the smoking hot blonde thought he was his brother and bolted before he could finish what they started. Though her holier-than-thou attitude puts a serious damper on his mood, Gabe’s never been one to give up on something he wants. And he wants Elle. But does a man who lives on the dark side really have a chance with a proper lady?

Blurb:

It was only supposed to last one night...

Ian had no idea the sexy woman he took to his bed was his little sister's best friend--or that she'd refuse to give him more than one night.

Good thing this soldier likes a challenge...

About the author:

New York Times and USA Today bestselling author, Katee Robert, learned to tell stories at her grandpa’s knee. Her favorites then were the rather epic adventures of The Three Bears, but at age twelve she discovered romance novels and never looked back.

Though she dabbled in writing, life got in the way—as it often does—and she spent a few years traveling, living in both Philadelphia and Germany. In between traveling and raising her two wee ones, she had the crazy idea that she’d like to write a book and try to get published.

She now spends her time—when not lost in Far Reach worlds—playing imaginary games with her wee ones, writing, ogling men, and planning for the inevitable zombie apocalypse.

My Thoughts:

I liked Wrong Bed Right Guy when I read it and I knew that I'd want to read more about those characters. When I seen the blurb of Chasing Mrs. Right, I wanted to read it but I didn't realize that it was the sequel until after I started reading it and came across Gabe and Elle's names. I was especially happy to read it then.

In this book Elle's brother Ian has come home from his deployment and is fighting to get over all that he has seen and heard while fighting over seas. He flees the over-crowded welcome home party being thrown in his honor and literally bumps into Roxanne. She was on her way to a party her best friend was throwing. She can see how out of it this man is and decides to comfort him. Ian can't believe being with this woman seems to quiet his anxiety.

Needless to say they get it on. She realizes that Ian is her best friend's brother and panics. She leaves before he even knows her name. He is upset when he wakes from the first sleep he's had in a long time and realizes that she left.

It was fun to watch Ian pursue Roxanne. She talks tough and flirts but that is just to keep people at a distance. Her mother convinced her that love doesn't exist. That it only hurts you in the long run. That is why she keeps herself guarded. Good thing that Ian won't take no for an answer! ;-)

This book was flirty, hot, romantic, and realistic. It also touched a little on what it is like to struggle with PTSD.

The story was well paced and I easily lost myself in it.

I recommend it to those of you looking for a great romance with characters that are easy to embrace.

I received a copy of this book from Entangled Publishing through NetGalley in order to give an honest review.

I am really looking forward to reading the next book which is expected to com out in August. :D

Blurb:

Eight years ago, former Army sergeant Nathan Schultz let the love of his life disappear without a fight. After watching everyone around him find happiness while he slipped further away, he’s finally ready to fight for Chelsea Callaghan—and he’s not afraid to play dirty.

Chelsea has always followed her conservative family’s rules—with one heartbreaking exception. When she receives an invitation to an old high school friend’s wedding, she knows who’s to blame. Though she goes solely to give Nathan a piece of her mind, he blackmails her into staying the entire week. With him.

There’s no way she’ll bow to Nathan’s will without making him pay. Unfortunately, revenge is a dish best served fully clothed, and they can’t be in the same room without losing theirs. As insatiable, anger-fueled lust shifts into something more, they begin to lose sight of why they can’t be together. But with so many unforgivable wrongs between them, can Nathan and Chelsea ever make things right?

  4. I haven't read this series or author before, but I do like the covers. I read the blurb for book one and it caught my attention. It's only $2.99 for the Kindle, so I said what they hey and bought it. ;) If I enjoy this first book then I'll buy the others. Thanks, as usual, for the intro to a new author.
