VBT: Giveaway and Review ~ Hidden Gates by D.T. Dyllin
For P.J. Stone, being a “Seer” who has never seen anything is less than fun. And P.J. isn’t known for her patience.
To make matters worse, she must choose a suitable mate to continue the Seer bloodline. Duty always comes before her heart…at least that’s what her parents taught her. When she finds herself wanting someone who is considered off-limits, P.J. is forced to question everything she believes.
As if navigating her love life isn’t complicated enough, P.J. finally receives a vision—of a threat to her world that only she can perceive. But no one will believe a fledgling Seer’s warnings. With nowhere else to turn, she may decide to trust a stranger with her life, her world, and maybe even her heart.

So who was the guy who wasn’t Bryn u were just making out w/ ???
My jaw dropped open. How the hell did she know?
IDK what ur talking about, I responded.
LIAR! stared back at me as her response.
I didn’t know what to say. How did she know? Nausea rolled through my stomach at the thought of Bryn ever finding out. He hadn’t even been gone a week yet, and I had kissed someone else, or rather someone else had kissed me. I really didn’t think Bryn would see the distinction, especially because I had kissed him back, if only for a moment. My phone beeped again, and I turned my focus back to the glowing screen.
IDK y u think that . . . yeah, no. I hit send and hoped she would buy it.
My phone beeped again almost immediately.
Squirrels r chatty & nosey. Stop lying. :/
Damn Speakers! I always forget about her sneaky little spies. The image of a little voyeur squirrel hanging around outside my window and then running to Jenna to report any indiscretions on my part was absolutely horrifying.
And crazy, I typed back and turned my phone off.

At first I thought this book was good. There were regs ~ people with nothing special about them (you know, normal), Seers, those females who get visions, Gatekeepers who guard the gates, and Guardians who (you guessed it) guard the seers and Speakers who could communicate with any being or animal. Seers were expected to breed more Seers. Guardians were only capable of having male children so they weren't a choice for Seers. Bryn was a guardian and P.J.'s BFF since they were 5. Then everything changed. They realized that they had stronger feelings for each other and decided to have a secret relationship until they could get away.
Good does not begin to describe this book. Fan-freaking-tastic is more like it! Oh there was young love, secrets, agendas, strength of character, a few steamy scenes, friends, squirrels, aliens, rivalry for PJ's attentions, and other powerful beings. I probably only scratched the tip of the iceberg.
I am eagerly awaiting the next book and I would strongly suggest this book to those of you who like paranormal or sci-fi romance.
I received a copy of this book from CBLS in exchange for my honest opinion. I honestly Loved it. There was so much of all of my favorite elements ~ romance, suspense, and action that I couldn't put it down. From start to finish, I was enthralled. It was a great story about great characters and so much more that I could keep going on and on! :-) Bottom line is this is one that you want to read!

Squirrels are cute but if they are spies they become a little freaky... watching you with those littl e eyes and seeming to be eating while they register everythings^^ReplyDelete

Squirrels are cute. I was watching one yesterday for a long time. They are such busy little guys.ReplyDelete
They are busy bodies and can be very chatty at times!Delete
Squirrels are so cute! but at times they can be a little annoying lolReplyDelete
Squirrels are curious little creatures. They are fun to watch, but can be a lot of trouble. Especially when they get into the bird feeder or replant your flower bulbs in odd places!ReplyDelete
lol! I've seen them dig them up but never replant them. That is too funny in an annoying way. :-)Delete
I think they think their suicide bombers the way they like to run in front of cars! But other than that kinda cute and twitchy! :) This does sound really good! I'll def read it.ReplyDelete
It was a surprise find for me and I am glad that I took the opportunity to review it. :DDelete
LOL What do I think of squirrels? Hmmm. I've heard them referred to as rats with tails. I live in farm country, so not too many around here, but see them when I go to town. I think they are rather fun to watch sometimes, as they chase each other up and down the trees and chatter at each other. My brother saved one once, years ago, some boys had stoned it out of a tree. It was just a baby and once a human touches it, the mother won't take it back. So, he raised it until it could get by on its own.ReplyDelete
My sister-in-law raised one too. She had to bottle feed it at first because it was so tiny when thy found it.Delete
Yeah, it's not easy to see a creature hurt. Sometimes though it's best if people leave wild creatures be. But, kudos to your sister-in-law for doing all of that work. We raise animals for 4H here (poultry and rabbits), so we see them from first born to full grown.Delete
I actually like watching squirrels, although they can be little pests around the bird feeders.ReplyDelete
Yes they can. My neighbor fights with them all of the time.Delete
Squirrels are very cute, but they are incredibly nosey and not at all good with keeping a girls secrets.ReplyDelete
lol! Who knew?Delete
