In My Mailbox

This meme was created by The Story Siren.

Since my last post, I received:

For Review: (paperback)

I received this from the author. Thank you Nell!

Here's the blurb from Goodreads:

After a tumultuous past, Greta Kendall has focused mainly on her bridal shop, located on the first floor of her beloved Queen Anne Victorian near Aspen. For two years she’s fought to save her house from Stephanie Harwood of Harwood Development, who is intent on razing her home to build a new mall. But now Greta’s running out of time. The town council is about to approve the final plans for the mall.

When Gray Daniels walks into her shop, Greta is immediately attracted to his rugged good looks and midnight blue eyes, until she learns he’s Stephanie Harwood’s fiancé. She’s furious to find they’ve tricked her into a publicity stunt aimed at garnering support for the mall. So now her little war has a new front: Gray Daniels. If only she could also fight her growing attraction to him.

A knock on the door brings a return of old danger, and Greta must now put aside her anguish over the house to discover if she’s at last capable of looking the past in the eye and overcoming it—and if she’s finally free to love again.

Joshua Silverman sent this to me. Thank you!

Here's the blurb from Goodreads:

Leoros doesn't have many friends. The son of a scientist and archeologist, he is constantly on the move. But when his parents make a startling discovery in Egypt, Leoros' world is turned upside down.

Description

Do you wish you could have the power of a god? Would you use it for good…or for evil?

When an archeologist discovers the mythic Emerald Tablet buried beneath Egypt’s desert, her son decodes the ancient text leading him to a distant world.

On that world, a slave girl begins a journey towards a destiny she cannot imagine. But when an ancient foe rises from the ashes, they will be brought together

by forces neither understands.

Leoros, who dreams of being like the heroes in the comic books, must fight to unlock the secrets of the universe to save a people he never knew existed.

Atlantia, whose bloody visions wake her in the night, senses the darkness coming.

Together they will face an enemy with the power of dark energy, lose a mentor to the assassin’s blade, and be betrayed by someone they trust. Their fight for the future is just beginning, and before it is over, a final sacrifice must be made. When the darkness comes, will they stand and fight or will they join it?

There is darkness in everyone.

The next book that I received is a little different from my norm but it seemed like a very meaningful story. I received it from Kelley & Hall Book Publicity. Thank you!

I think this picture is worth a thousand words. You should be able to tell what this book is about by looking at the cover.

Add it on Goodreads.

  3. I have M. Leighton's Down To You waiting on my Kindle to be read. I've read all of Charlaine Harris'Sookie Stackhouse books, so much better than the TV series - even though I would take Eric in book or TV form LOL I'm also reading the Dark Protectors series, but I'm on book #3 Hunted. Need to get back to that series, love the detail in Rebecca's stories. I've thought of adding Lisa Renee Jones'"Rebecca's Lost Journals" to my reading list, but I'm still torn about it. Not sure I will enjoy reading a book in journal format. Haven't read any of the others, first time seeing a few of them. The Gingerbread House sounds interesting though.
