About Mercy River:
With 13 children between them, it’s amazing that Whitney Permann, Brooke Stone, and Soni Muller have time for anything other than runny noses, sock hunts, and prying suckers off the van floor. But music has been a part of each of their lives since childhood, and is now a strong presence in their homes.
The three friends met while singing in the Jenny Phillips Choir and there found a common love for tight harmonies and sharing the gospel through song. Over the past five years, Mercy River has traveled all over the United States and Canada as a highly sought after ensemble, performing for thousands of people while testifying of the Savior. Each member of the group brings several years of experience performing, writing, and directing hundreds of firesides and concerts—as well as recording on dozens of inspirational albums.
Their self-titled debut album was released in May 2008. “Beautiful Dawn,” was released in March of 2010. Their third album, “Higher” was released with rave reviews in February 2012. Mercy River is back with mesmerizing harmonies and upbeat vocal arrangements in “Come Alive”.

My Thoughts:
Come Alive was light and uplifting. Most of the lyrics were meaningful and spiritual. These women have a knack at harmonizing their voices. :-)
This was my first time listening to the vocal wonder that is Mercy River. I have a feeling that I will be listening to more from them in the future.
The last song, Walking on Sunshine was an upbeat remake of the hit song from Katrina and the waves. It was a fun and light hearted ending to the cd.
This cd was enjoying and uplifting. If you like spiritual music, I suggest that you give this group and cd a try.
I received a cd in exchange for my honest opinion. :D Thank you!

First time i remember you reviewing a cd but it's not a bad change^and i'm glad you loved it. i'm nopt a fan of music because i can't read and listen to music at teh same time but when i do listen either i want something moving ( like those from the '80) of those with text so this cd could be added to my list on day
ReplyDeleteYou're right. I've never reviewed a cd before! It was a nice change of pace. It is not my most commonly selected style of music. I am with music the same way I am with books, I like almost a little of everything. :-)
DeleteI have never heard of them. I will have to see if they are on iTunes. Not my normal choice for music but I'm willing to give anyone a try. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks I think I might try this
