Max Xylander and the Island of Zumuruud
Max has anger management issues. But she has a secret, too. She can make things happen. Like magic. She almost killed a loser skate punk and nearly used it on her stuck up older sister. The question is, can she do anything other than blow things up? Can she learn to control it? And is it really possible that an obscure teenage girl is the key to keeping all of humanity safe?
Philip just got his ring back. He got it taken away for messing with his teacher’s mind so he can cheat on a test. Now that he has his ring, he thinks he should be able to use his power to make his life better. A lot better. The problem is that people want him to be responsible. But if you could do magic, wouldn’t you use it to escape work in any way possible?
Aaron wants to be a soldier. He knows there are lots of people who would try to take over, and he’s determined to stop them. The problem is that there’s this new girl. And she might be not be on the right side of things. She’s really talented and pretty, but she might be able to destroy everything he believes in. Whatever the case, he knows he needs to learn to be world class with the magic sword while he figures out what to do.
Brynn never gets out. Her grandfather won’t permit it. Her only access to the outside world are high fashion magazines, so she has an unusual idea what she should wear. She’s dying to get out and travel. And adopt animals. Any kind of animal. Is she a lonely future granny with cats or are her ridiculous clothes actually the next fashion craze? What possible role could she play in the destiny of the world?

Jon Thomason lives with his family in San Diego, after many years living in the beautiful Seattle area. He has a successful career in high tech where he's been fortunate enough to participate in many big-name industry releases.
Storytelling permeates everything he does. In the moments when Jon is not helping build the story of the tech world, he can almost always be found working on a project: writing, photography, videography, graphics design, or 3D art.
And he's always careful to conceal his jinni magic abilities, though perhaps might slip one day and be discovered...

ReplyDeleteI'm really very tired of "destiny of the world" stories, but I might read this for Brynn. Based on the description here, her character sounds great!
But I don't know if I'll be downloading the freebie. I have so many books to go through as it is that even if something tempts me, it's actually quite easy to resist! =/
you should get the freebie when you can ^^ after all you have time to read it before book 2 is released but at least you will know if you do want to continue the series^^
Delete( still have a lot to read too but i'm grateful for the freebie on smashword so i do take them in a way to say thanks to the author ^^; need to go back reading about fey by teh way^^;;;)
I don't know how you walk away from freebies. I wish my will power was stronger! :-)
DeleteI figure, if I get it when it's free and it waits for me to read it, no big deal it was free. Not to mention, if I decide I don't like it I just delete it because it was free!
I have so many books (purchased and free) on my Kindle that I can totally understand your hesitance. However, I think if you believe you might like the story, it's worth getting it and giving it a try.
Deleteoh i really know the review up on my birthday now ^^ i'm curious about it but i won't read it since it's on amazon and i can't read them

Awesome! :-)
DeleteI downloaded the free copy and at some point in the future I will read it. Probably won't happen for awhile because I have SO many new release books to read, let alone the backlog on my TBR and Kindles ;)
ReplyDeleteThe cover is very futuristic and that little girl freaks me out LOL Those eyes and the way she is washed out. It does catch the eye though.
As long as you read it it's fine even if it's not in the near futur ^^ after all you could dtill give your opinion when brenda will be reviewing book 2 ( that still need to be written^^) that let you some times
DeleteTrue Miki! Josette has time. :-)
DeleteTrue ;) Thanks! It just seems that I loose track of things on my Kindle, I need to look into organizing it somehow. I just keep adding to it and other books keep getting pushed back.
DeleteIf you figure out how to organize yours, please share your method with me. I could use soom organization as well! :-)
DeleteI have no idea what soom is! lol! I meant some.
DeleteI have been following this book tour and I have to say that the book sounds interesting, the cover could be better and the fact that it is free...well I couldn't resist and downloaded it. Just like many of you, I have a ton of books waiting to be read that I have downloaded but I figure if a book sounds like it is interesting and it's free than it's worth downloading and at least trying to read it. If I'm not into it after I get 1/2 way through I stop reading it. That has only happened 3 times, where I didn't finish the books because I just couldn't get myself to.
ReplyDeleteI agree. There is no harm in trying something that is free. You may find a winner that you would have missed out on otherwise. :-)
DeleteI may or may not read it, however my 12 year old would LOVE it!!
