My Thoughts:

Someone added this book to their shelf on Goodreads and I had to check it out. I wanted to order it but it was only available in Kindle format despite all of the other books in the series being available in paperback. :-(  I contacted the author because (as you know) I'd prefer to buy all of the books in paperback if possible, especially because they are so affordable. Anyway, the author said that Chase is being reformatted and will be available in paperback again! Yay! :D :D :D Then she asked if I'd like her to send me a file to read until it is available. Uh yes please! She sent it to me minutes later and didn't even ask me to review it for her (which I will anyway) but she was so very nice!

Now, let me tell you that Chase is book one in the Resisting Love series. ;-) I would only suggest this book to adults as it has plenty of sizzling scenes. This should be on your What to read after Fifty list!

I really liked the characters, especially Cade and James. Their protective nature and the way they teased Layla mercilessly was awesome. I loved it.

I was surprised when I found out who Chase was but I should've seen it coming. lol!

This book had some of everything that I love in romances. Well not everything, there were no supes, but this is not a paranormal so you get the point. :P There was some drama, humor, romance, hot and steamy scenes, a couple of Alpha males one of which was the hero, and a tad bit of suspense. There was even a wicked witch complete with broom!  Ahhahaha! Well okay she didn't actually have a broom and she may not have technically been a witch but she was anything but nice! I really didn't like her and I'd have liked to see her fall off of a broom from a very high height or meet an even nastier end.

I loved this book. I just know that I'll love the rest of the books too! I am eagerly awaiting the chance to purchase all of the books to put on my shelf (after I've read the rest of them of course).

I really don't want to ruin any of the surprises by saying too much. Just know that this book is mmmm, mmmm, Good!

As I've already said, I received a copy of this book from the author. These are my honest, uncompensated for thoughts about CHASE. I strongly recommend reading it because I thought it was pretty darn awesome. :-)

Blurb:

If only a pile of wayward curls and the inability to stay on her feet were seventeen year-old Foster Kelly’s most pressing concerns. Unfortunately, stubborn hair and clumsiness are just the tip of it. At the age of five when Foster is told, “You don’t belong here,” it was only a mistake, but the result is one broken heart. These four carelessly spoken words have shaped and shadowed Foster, and now—a senior at Shorecliffs High-school—she seeks the wallflower’s existence, denying herself the most casual of friendships, much too afraid that someone will see what she believes is certain: she does not belong anywhere—or with anyone.

This reality would continue to suit her just fine; however . . . Love has a long-standing history of undoing broken hearts.

Like a comet, an unexpected arrival knocks Foster out of the crowded, starry sky, sending her directly into the limelight. Exposed and afraid, she will attempt to regain anonymity; but it isn’t so easy now that someone is watching. He pursues this shy enigma, confronting Foster’s deepest fears head-on, and in the process falls wholly and completely in love with her. But there is something he is not saying . . . a secret capable of certain ruin. Either he will break her heart once and for all, or he will heal it.

In the end, though, it is Foster who must decide if she is worth mending.

September CIG

Hello September, so long hot, blazing days of summer. As the days go from roaring fire to to a much more manageable blaze, the kids are now in school during the day. YAY!!!!!

I still find myself with way to many books that I want to read and not enough time to accomplish this daunting feat. I need to find a better balance. I keep telling myself to limit the amount of tours that I take part in and then I'd have more time to read the books that I've bought. The problem is that I'm a book addict and these tours are like crack to me. Why? They offer me a free book to read and most of them offer you guys a giveaway too. How can I say no? I start out trying to limit it to every other day but then an invitation will come that I can't pass up, and another and another. You get the point. This is both good and bad.

I'll get will power somehow. Hopefully soon!

Here are some of the giveaway results:

The winner of the Summer Romance Hop was  Lennette D. she chose The Marriage Trap by Jennifer Probst.

The winner of the Clear My Shelf Giveaway was Ruth and she chose Fashionably Late by Beth Kendrick.

I'm thinking about doing a Mythical Monster Mash Challenge closer to Halloween. This will be similar to my Alpha Arcade that is held in the Spring. The difference and possibly the more challenging part will be that it will include all different supes, weres and shifters, vamps, witches. etc... You get the idea, anything goes.

What do you think, would you be up for a challenge of this magnitude or should I limit the monsters?

Thank you again to Miki and Amber my co-hosts all during the summer months while I was away or otherwise preoccupied with my boys. You two are invaluable to me and I can't begin to say how much I appreciate you both. :-)

Later this month, I'll be hosting the Reads and Feeds post. It will be a compiltion of my vacation highlights, some of our favorite camp grub, and some of the books that I managed to read while there. I am excited to share with you and I hope you will enjoy it. :-)

Oh and I should mention that I've added to new entries to the CIG (Comment Incentive Giveaway).

One is worth 5 entries and is for people new to the giveaway. First timers only or you will be deleted!
If you want to know more about the CIG, you can find out all of the details Here.

The second is for you repeat performers. It is worth 10 entries. All you have to do is refer someone to the giveaway. If they enter, you get 10 extra entries! You won't be able to tell if they entered, but I will. :-) If they don't, no big deal, I'll delete the entry and you can try and temp someone else. If they do, your entry will remain and you'll get the extra points.

There were only eight people who entered last month. That's pretty sad. You only have to comment once during the whole month to enter. Is it that difficult? Any other suggestions?

Oh well either way, I'm more than thankful for those of you who take the time to talk with me and this Incentive was created for that reason. I still hope to have more people comment but if they don't it's their loss, right?

Miki and Amber, unless you've come up with a better idea, do you want to share links for other giveaways on this post again? You can quit at any time if it is too much hassle! I admit that I missed most of them last month due to being at camp. :-(

And now, here is the giveaway form:

Good Luck!
