Fifty Shades of Grey by E.L. James

Fifty Shades of Grey (Fifty Shades, #1)

Fifty Shades of Grey is a book meant for mature readers only.

Let me start by telling you what it is not. My first introduction to this book had me believing that it was the next Twilight type book. WRONG! I do not understand where people are getting that idea. Yes, E.L. James admitted to being a Twilight fan. So what. That doesn't mean that her book is like Twilight. There are no vampires or werewolves. The only similarity that I see is the fact that Christian warns Ana to stay away from him because he is no good for her.

I've also heard this book referred to as Mommy porn. People are absurd! Anybody who has ever watched porn knows that porn has No plot. Just because a book has sex in it does not make it porn.

I found this book to be intriguing. Yes there was a lot of sex in this book, some of which made me uncomfortable. The sex and the circumstances are needed to help us understand Christian Grey. He is one of the main characters and if you read the books, they show how messed up he is and eventually we find out why he is the way he is. I could not put the book down. I couldn't wait to find out what happened between him and Ana.

I feel that this was a wonderful story about a man who had a poor start to life and then was very misguided by someone he looked up to.  There is so much story in this book that I don't understand the people who are putting the book down and calling it porn. Did they read the same book that I did?

The main focus of the book is Christian, Ana and their complicated relationship. The characters are very believable. I loved her writing style, It was as though I was going through the emotions with Ana.

Fifty Shades of Grey by E.L. James has a plot full of complex characters, sex, and romance. The characters have real issues to work through and they don't just meet and fall immediately in love like so many other characters do. It's refreshing!

I recommend this to any Adult who is looking for something different to read.

You can purchase it from Amazon Here!
