Interview and Giveaway with Indie author Sarra Cannon

I want to welcome Sarra Cannon to the blog.

She's the gifted author of the Peachville High Demon series.

She has graciously donated an ebook for me to giveaway!

Thank you Sarra.

Sarra Cannon grew up in a small town in Georgia where she learned that being popular always comes at a price.

Now, she lives in North Carolina with her amazing husband and her teeny tiny Pomeranian, Snickerdoodle. Books and music are her greatest passions. She has never been a cheerleader, but it's possible she knows a few things about casting spells.

Without further ado, the interview:

What is your favorite thing about writing?

My favorite thing about writing is getting lost in the story. Even if I think I know where the story is going, the characters always surprise me. I love that!

Which of your characters is your favorite to write? the easiest? the hardest?

Right now, Harper is definitely my favorite character to write. At this point, I feel like I know her so well that her voice just becomes one with mine the moment I sit down to write a scene from the book. I guess that also makes her the easiest character for me to write. Jackson, on the other hand, is one of the hardest characters for me to write. He's such a mystery sometimes to Harper, and I think that makes him a mystery to me too. He reveals himself slowly in some ways, and I find myself waiting to figure out what he'll do next.

What are you working on and when can we expect it to be out?

I am currently working on the sixth and final book of the Peachville High Demons series, DEMONS FOREVER. I don't have a release date set yet, but I am hoping for May. Since I'm expecting my first baby this June, I definitely want to have the book out before he comes!

Do you write down ideas or do you put everything on your computer?

Much to my husband's dismay, I still write a lot of my ideas out by hand! He thinks I should move everything to my computer, but he doesn't understand my need to use colorful post-its and pens and papers to plot out my story and characters. There's just something about the hands-on experience of it that still speaks to me. All of my actual writing, on the other hand, is done on the computer. It's just my notes and such that are handwritten.

Which new release are you most looking forward to reading?

I am actually really looking forward to Karen Amanda Hooper's new book, Grasping at Eternity. This will be her first self-published book, so I'm really rooting for her. It's expected to release this May, and I can't wait! The story is about reincarnated souls, and that's something I've always been really interested in. You can read more about it on her goodreads page Here.

Do you prefer to go to the theater or wait for the DVD?

Theater for sure! IMAX 3D if it's an option! I love sitting toward the front so the screen takes up my whole vision, haha. Movies are so much better when you can watch them on the big screen with a Sprite in one hand and a large popcorn in the other. My husband and I go out to the movies at least two or three times a month.

What is your favorite snack? favorite candy?

Do cupcakes count? OMG, I have such a sweet tooth!! My ultimate favorite candy is skittles. I could literally sit down and eat an entire bag. Of course, sour patch kids are a close second!
Of course cupcakes count!

How likely are you to suffer from road rage?

Not very likely. I get frustrated pretty easily with bad drivers, but I don't really rage on them. I'm more of a mumble-under-my-breath kind of driver, haha.

Beef, chicken, pork, or vegetarian?

Chicken! Although, I do love a good steak.

What is your favorite color?

This is such a tough question!! I think I go through phases where I'm addicted to one color and will dye my hair, paint my nails and use pens in just that one color. But then I'll get tired of it and move on to another color the next month. Right now, I'm going through a royal blue phase.

What is your least favorite chore?

All of them! I hate cleaning the house, but it's a necessary evil. I don't even want to think about how things will be around here with a little baby in the house! Maybe it's because of my more 'artistic' tendencies, but I'm just not good at organizing things, so housework and cleaning drives me insane.

Wow. we are like two peas in a pod. No one would ever call me a Domestic Diva. It gets done but not happily! I'm not a whistle while you work kinda girl. : )

Homebody or social butterfly?

Hmm. Can I be both? I love hanging out at the house with my hubby, but I also like meeting new people and going out. I have a feeling with a new baby in the house, I'll be more of a homebody for the next couple of years.

Yes, you can definitely be both. I'm that way too. Although, typically people tend to lean more towards one or the other.

Night or Day?

Night for sure. I've always been a night owl. It's the time when I get most of my writing done. I'm definitely NOT a morning person, haha. I tend to stay up until about 2am most nights, but I'm sure my schedule is about to change pretty drastically with the baby!

What type of music do you listen to?

Almost every type. I listen to everything from Opera to Country. My favorite band is Dave Matthews, but I also love Eminem and Taylor Swift. I have weird tastes :P
I understand. I'm like that too. I like a mixture but I'm not fond of Opera!

Thank you so much for taking the time to answer my questions and for graciously donating a book for the giveaway. I really appreciate it!

Thank you so much for asking me to be a part of the blog hop!! I'm truly honored to be involved!!!
