Review ~ Make Me Crazy by Codi Gary & a giveaway too

~ Book Synopsis ~

Miranda “Rand” Coleman has seen the way love can wreck a person and wants absolutely no part of it. When her granddaddy dies suddenly, he leaves a clause in his will that has her married in three months or she loses her inheritance. Unwilling to give up the Double C Ranch, she starts to set her eyes towards the eligible men in town, with little luck in finding a man she can stand for a minute let alone a year. Until she sets eyes on the new veterinarian and enlists the help of her womanizing best friend, Jake, to help.

Jake Hansen is a single guy who likes his women pretty and uncomplicated, with no plans to settle down anytime soon. When he decides to help Rand hook her man, he has no idea the effect watching Rand change would have on him. Especially when she starts letting her gorgeous brown hair down and showing off a body he didn’t even know she had. Before too long, Jake isn’t just lusting after his best friend, he’s feeling downright possessive. But when it comes down to the wire, will he get over his issues and step up to the alter…or lose the only woman he was ever meant to love?

My Thoughts:

Make Me Crazy was a great friends become more type romance. Miranda (Rand) Coleman just lost her Grand daddy. He left her something behind, a stipulation in his will. You see if she wants to inherit the Double C, she has to marry within 3 months.

The idea is absurd to Rand. She has worked her but off on that ranch but she still has to jump through hoops or else she'll lose it.

This clause starts lots of chaos in her life. Men who have never bothered with her start leaving gifts on her porch and giving her attention.

This is all unwelcome to Rand. She has never liked attention. Her mother died when she was young and her father had been abusive. She never wanted a man's attention because of this and another embarrassing thing that happened long ago. So she doesn't get frilly or flirt, she actually tries to be just one of the guys.

She will not be taken advantage of by any man. Most of the guys just want a piece of the Ranch and she won't let that happen. She has two best friends that are great guys, Red and Jake.

As a last resort, she considers getting one of them to marry her.

Both Jake and Red start acting weird around her as she starts playing the part of female looking for a mate. Neither of them had ever considered her as a female and now they both have had their eyes opened.

This book was crazy good with a marriage clause, a virgin heroine, romance, humor, hot and sweaty action, friendships and great characters. What more could you want?

I loved Earl! He was a tough old bird, ornery too! :-)

Mostly, this was a feel good read but there was a little down time when things were not all roses between her and her would be husband. All good books need some drama!

I recommend this if you're looking for something a little lighter to read. I liked it quite a bit and I have no doubt that you will too. ;-)

I received an ecopy in exchange for my honest opinion. I especially liked the ending it was very cute!

  1. sound cute yes as often we have what we need just under our eyes without knowing.... her grand father was quite wicked to add that clause ( though i'm sure he had a security nest also organised^^)
On the list, thank you for the discovery ( and yes sometimes we just need books to make us smile without complication^^)

  2. Sounds very cute. Definitely a nice summer read. :) That definitely is a horrible clause to have. I don't feel that you should have to marry just to inherit. But it still sounds like a fun read.
