A Working Author
A lot of people have asked me, "Where do you find the time to write?" My answer always is, "I have no idea." I definitely have a lot on my plate. I am a newlywed. My husband and I have been married for a year come October. I am a mom to two beautiful girls who are ten and nine. My ten year old has mild autism and my nine year old has ADHD. I am also a step mother to one awesome fourteen year old step daughter who now lives with us. To top it off I have a full time job as an administrative assistant. I work five days a week from 7:30am to 4:30pm. Once I get off work I have to pick up my girls from my sisters then come home, cook dinner, clean the kitchen, help with homework and do what ever other little chores need to be done like laundry, and getting the girls settled. That leaves very little time for writing. So where do I fit it in? Every where I possibly can.
Some days I will wake up an hour early just so I can fit in a half an hour of writing time. I just sit at 5:30am with a cup of coffee and my computer and write until I have to get the girls up and get them ready for school. Then when I get home in the evenings and get everything else done I will try to fit in another thirty minute writing session somewhere before going to bed. I am also lucky enough to have blogger on my phone so if I am at work and there is not much going on I will blog ideas or lines right onto blogger from my phone and then move them into my book once I get home. I also try to write a good bit on the weekends. It does not sound like a lot of time for writing but it is what I can manage at this point and I love every minute of it.
I wrote The Wolfs Maine in about six months give or take a few days. I thought that was quick until I started befriending a lot of authors on Facebook and I see them knocking out books left and right within two or so months and I cannot help the jealousy I feel. Now I realize there are different circumstances for each author. Each author has their own timeline and it doesn't matter how quickly you get the book written as long as you finish it and get it out there for people to read.
So it is hard trying to fit in time to write but it is my passion. I absolutely love getting my stories out of my head and written down so others may enjoy them as well and I will continue to do so until I just can't anymore.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and I hope if you pick up The Wolfs Maine that you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it.

My breath stops as he gets closer to me. Then I see him. He is even more gorgeous than his picture. He has such beautiful features, dark as night hair, beautiful green eyes that I could lose myself in, six feet of total perfection standing in front of me in jeans and a black sweater.
“Ava dear. Breathe.”
I let out a long breath that I hadn’t realized I was still holding but yet I still can’t talk. I am just frozen which wouldn’t be a surprise standing out here but I am not even cold, just a complete statue. This man in front of me can’t be interested in me, there is just no way. He could have any beautiful, tall, blonde chick he wanted. That is the only type of woman that would look right standing next to him.
“Ava. Are you ok?”
I just stare at him but I did manage a “I..uh..I..yes.”
He giggles as he walks up to me and wraps his arms around me for a hug. “I have been waiting for this moment for so long. I am so happy you decided to come over. I hope you do not feel uncomfortable at my home.”
No, I just feel uncomfortable with how beautiful he is.
“Thank you for having me.”
“Ah, she talks!”
He lets out a laugh again and I can feel myself manage a smile.

I liked it but I had some issues. They are my issues and have nothing to do with the plot or the writing style. They effect my judgement none the less.
Avalon (the main character) cheats on her husband. I know that it is just a story and that her husband was a rat but I do not / can not condone such actions.
That having been said, the story kept my attention the whole way through. The plot had a little mystery, lots of action and of course romance!
I think it was a good start to a new paranormal series and I will keep an eye out for the next book.
I received this book in exchange for my honest opinion. I honestly thought that it was pretty good.
I'd love to know what you're thinking. Please leave a comment!
