“What is this place?”

“It’s a hot springs cave.”

“A cave? Isn’t that dangerous?”

“Not when you’re with me, I’ll keep you safe, I promise.” The warmth of his smile melted the last of her cold exterior.

More solar lights illuminated the path to their destination. Although hesitant, she didn’t resist when he led her to the rocky archway. The exquisite aroma of the jasmine flowers clustered along the walls of the entrance lingered about them.

“It’s for the exclusive use of villa guests so….”

“What?”

“Since the reception is still going, I don’t think we’ll be interrupted.”

“Oh,” a shiver of excitement ran through her. Another chance of getting caught.

“There are some wrought iron torches along the stone walls.” Yong patted his pocketless jacket. “No matches.”

“I don’t have anything,” Cindy stopped. She wouldn’t follow even him into the blackness ahead. “I left my bag in my room, we’ll have to go back, we can’t see inside.”

“Hey, it’s no problem, I got it.” Yong stood close to the torch and blew on the wick. The glow emanating from his pursed lips ignited the lamp.

A surge of amazement rushed through her. “Oh, right, the dragon thing. Gwen told me all about it.”

“Hope it doesn’t freak you out.” Yong walked to the next one and repeated his magic.

“Not at all, actually, the first time I saw it was the night Gwen lost it on her ex. Then, I was freaked out, but it was like she was in a trance, and her eyes were….”

“Glowing?”

“Yes!”

“Yeah, that’s when the anger takes over. It’s like your body goes on autopilot. So, you’re okay with this then?” He leaned in to light another one.

“The way tonight is going; it’s just one more amazing thing.”

Yong took her hand and they went deeper into the tunnel.

A surprising sensation filled her palm. “Hey, your skin is getting hot.”

“Part of the parahuman lighter trick, I’m afraid. It’ll go back to normal in a few minutes.”

My Thoughts:

This book was super quick and very hot. ;-) I didn't read the previous book, Double Dragon Seduction but I was able to understand what was going on.

This is a 1 Night Stand book. In this book Cathy is pulling her best friend's wedding together and needs a date. Yong Li is looking for someone to distract him from losing a woman to his brother. He also needs a date and Madame Evangeline sets the two of them up.

Cathy likes Yong but is leery of having any kind of relationship with him because he was intimate with Gwen. Yong knows that there is no room for him in the relationship between his brother and Gwen and wants to find someone for himself. Can he make Cathy see that what happened with Gwen is over and that he is ready to move on?

I loved the beautiful scenery in this book. In addition the plot also had hot hunky twin brothers, a wedding, romance, and steamy scenes. Did I mention the beautiful scenery?

I was impressed by the amount of story contained in 48 short pages. :D

If you are looking for a quick hot read this book's for you!

I received a copy of this book from FMB in exchange for my honest opinion.

Question: If you knew a man that you were interested in had previously had intimate relations with your best friend, could you act on your interest?

You're asking some tough questions this week, aren't you, Brenda? ;-)

To be honest, I don't know if I'd be able to overlook that. In general, I'm very conservative myself, so I'd prefer to be with someone with similar values. Not to knock anyone else's choices, but if I personally can't wrap my head around being intimate with one person and then falling in love with that person's best friend, then I doubt I'd see eye to eye with someone who could.

    1. Sorry! I'm not trying to ask hard questions. I just try to ask something relevent to the story.

I couldn't handle it either! I would constsntly question how I compared and wonder if he still thought of her. In the story, the fact that Gwen was the best friend and she married his brother means that they would always be around. For me, that would only make it worse.

They are relevant to the posts and I really don't mind answering them. =) They're just a bit more thought-provoking and personal than what I'm used to. But that's also half the fun. When I come back to read your replies, I also read everyone else's responses to the question.

    6. Exactly! Yes we have books in commom and that is great but it's also about connecting with other people in a general sense as well. I am thrilled that you feel the same. I am glad that we are all willing and able to communicate beyond I'll add it to my TBR list. Not that I didn't appreciate those comments because I did and do, but this is so much better! :D

  2. Tough question. It would depend on the amount of time since they dated. Ans how they broke up.

  3. I agree with En brethiliel, this week yor question are hard and very personnal^^;;

i don't think i could, first since i have a close relation with that person we will meet again and i will be afraid that the spark reignite their love so i wouldn't feel secure
Also i woyuld feel bad too becaus eof their history together either he broke with her for me and i would feel really guilty or it has nothing to do with me and i'm just a remplacement....

if something like he would reélly need to work hard to win me over and i'm not sure he could succeed

  5. Hm.. I guess it depends on which friend it is and how much they actually cared for the person.

  6. @Brenda, thank you for having me here today, what a wonderful question and discussion! I love it!

@Enbrethiliel: No worries about your humble opinion, that adds depth to the conversation!
I can honestly say, it's personally something I would truly struggle with, which is what made our heroine really struggle with this, but there is a twist with this story that changes the usual love triangle dilemma :-)

@miki, thanks for stopping by, I too, enjoy seeing people come together to discuss similar likes and preferences in reading. The distrust that comes with dating a friend's ex and understandable, Cindy and Gwen are BFF's and this is Cindy's internal conflict, she does find resolution and along the way, has a hiccup with her doubt.

@Debby, I agree, every situation is unique, and different variables may change our decisions :-)

@VampedChik, thank you also for stopping by, it's great to see so many people weigh in on this topic. In this story, the caring runs deep, but the dynamic shifts, along with the dragoness :-)

    (cryptic, aren't I?)

Don't forget to enter the draw for a chance to win the first book with these characters, Double Dragon Seduction, Dragon Temptation is a stand alone 1NS, but is a sequel to DDS :-)

    Happy reading
    Kali

  7. I'd only act on it so long as he hadn't cheated on my friend or broke her heart. I also wouldn't go after him unless I cleared it with her first and made sure she was okay with it. Remember, chicks before dicks.

    1. Chicks before dicks always!

You've made some very good points Emily.

We've all been worried about what he was feeling and didn't consider what the BFF might think.

  8. I was looking back and noticed that my comment didn't go through... ugh...
But, no, I couldn't act on my interest with someone my best friend was intimate with. It would be very weird. I mean, you would be wondering all the time if they still had feelings for each other or if they were comparing you with her. I just think there would be insecurity issues.
